Open My Computer double click on c: drive go to \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data directory

look for IconCache.db file and delete.

Reboot and the file will be recreated, and should resolve any icon that was incorrectly displayed.

eh, just tried that method. still the same problem. good looking out though

i still have no idea how to get broadband to my laptop non wirelessly.

apparently everyone in the world would never ever want to do that except me because not shit comes up on google.

and id start by downloading daemon tools lite to get the right codec, then download some dvd burning program and make sure you have the right discs.

nevermind. i didnt know what you didnt know how to do was extract it

i know how to extract the files...i use 7-zip.

after i extract the files and try playing em anywhere it says " this file is uncompatible with this program" or some bullshit like that

bump

you got to download ALL the parts and then use winRAR to extract them into a folder which will give you a movie file most likely in AVI,MKV,MP4,or DIVX format and you take DVD Flick and burn it to DVD

also, there are a lot of fakes out there, biggest sign is that they have an EXE attached to them

so, you have cs3 and need to crack it? i cant find my keygen that i used, but its easy to use and find.

Just find a cs3 torrent, only download the keygen and instructions..

the steps should come in with the torrent, easy to follow.

As far as getting broadband, your talking about getting internet thru the ethernet port?

i have no idea.

all i know is i have a desktop computer connected to the internet. cant i just run a cord to the router from the laptop and leech off the internet?

okay, let me see if i can help.

so, you have a modem right?

comcast_cable_modem.jpg

then the modem goes to your router and then to your computer?

linksys-wrt100-rangeplus-router.jpg

the purpose of a router is to have a desktop and a laptop running under the same internet host. Some "routers" have ethernets ports to connect other desktop computers as well as laptops with wifi.

As far as your question goes, yes, you can hook up ur laptop to the router to get wired internet.

If you do that, unplug ur router (power).

connect ur laptop and ur desktop.

plug in ur router again.

Done.

oh you were really looking for an answer to this question,

all you need is a patch cable ( called CAT5e or CAT 6) run this cable that looks like a phone line with a larger diameter and larger connection tip

best-quality-cat6-cable-stp-cat-6-e.jpg

one plugs into the network card port on the laptop and then the other one connects directly to the modem

or as TMsaid get a wired router or wireless which ever you prefer

If you have a wired router this is how the computer will need to be hooked up

Modem/Network Cable - Network cable into router ( Ethernet Port ( sometimes called Internet port) then its network cable from port 1 of router - to laptop Ethernet port this is how you get a broadband highspeed hardwired connection to the laptop from a router

LOL well put.

Quick question.

-- I am backing up my pc to and doing a fresh install of windows (prolly W7)... I have alot of shit on my computer to say the least. Does anyone know a way to do some sort of organizing without having to go through item by item to check for duplicates? Example. I have around 700 gigs of music, in which I could guess about 5% of the tracks are duplicates, some are the exact same track in different locations on my drives, some are same tracks with different bitrates. Is there any type of cataloging software that could help make this organization easier?

^^ I dont think there is a program for that, but i can be wrong. the only thing i can suggest is doing this....

Click the size tab to organize your files by size.

Look at the size.

If you see files that share the same size, they can be duplicates.

Look that the name files and just start deleting duplicates.
