Poop Man Bob
Okay, I'll get this shit going again. My computer's telling me that my USB's are 1.1's. But my motherboard (Abit IC7-MAX3) has "USB 2.0 support." And I'm running the USB's provided via the motherboard, so what gives? I'm tired of my slow-ass transfer speeds. Any help? Issac Brock
Try going to the Abit website and getting the latest drivers, PMB. For the above stuff on ubuntu, my advice: If you have a laptop, don't use linux. Linux is not designed for wireless internet, and it is very, very difficult to get it to work. I had ubuntu running on my laptop for a few days and loved everything about it except for the fact that i couldn't get internet unless plugged in. Even my computer expert friend (programmer/gamer/tech supporter) who really knows EVERYTHING about computers couldn't really get it work for me. He probably would have been able to if he could edit the code himself, but since we don't live in the same state that couldn't happen. Issac Brock
Oh, and something to add for all this talk about "spyware." Spyware is just a marketing name for viruses. If you get a good antivirus (I recommend NOD32, the most transparent out there, meaning it doesn't take much ram to run) you will not need any of those stupid programs to look for "spyware." Seriously, just get NOD32. It updates constantly and doesn't slow anything down at all, and is ridiculously effective.
Dick Quickwood
pmb, a bios update?
Poop Man Bob
I got the latest USB drivers already, and that didn't do anything. I'll look into the BIOS update.

Poop Man Bob
Before I download random files, what are those, casek?
lord_casek
haha. that one on top is your bios update and the one on bottom i thinkis a flashing utility for windows. as bios updates are usually done via floppy and booting. this one allows you to flash it inside winblows. teh awesome. AyeBee
My monitor keeps just shutting off. It doesn't turn off though, it just goes black...I turn it off then back on, works for a few seconds, then does it again. Usually it'll do this 15-20 times, then it works again for a few hours or maybe longer Is my computer smokin crack?
