SteveAustin
I ran across a couple other boards talking about it...with supposedly a couple people getting ipods. As long as you don't have a free email accoutn...you can sign up on ebay without using a credit card. That was good enough for me to at least give it a try. fuck I've got nothing to lose. I used my spam email address for the ipod sign up and a real one for the ebay sign up. http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7464768 Hook a brotha up. !@#$%
the 'catch' is that five people who you signed up have to complete an offer. that's the hard part.
SteveAustin
^^ that's the dope thing about the ebay one. you can sign up w/o a credit card and then all you have to do is bid on something. I'm hoping bidding on something and immediately being outbid works.
!@#$%
i did it yesterday and was immediatly outbid. i actually wanted what i was bidding on too. i tried to complete an offer for myself with a fake name by doing the aol one. that doesn't even need a credit card. it just asked did i want to download aol or have it sent to me, then gave em my addy to get it in the mail. oh yeah, there's more on this..check your email :D
nomadawhat
Re: click for me Originally posted by !@#$% http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7459874 well i just bid on an item following your link. so let me know if you actaully get an ipod... then i can bug my friends. oh yeah somebody hook it up for me too: http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7499251

Step8
So what you're saying is that if I had five different/unique email addresses(not freemail), I could get a free IPod delivered to my door? Edit: i just read that you have to be in the US. :(
!@#$%
dummy accounts would be fine but then each dummy has to complete one free offer. that's the 'catch' you not only have to sign up five people, you gotta get them to complete an offer. there is a website(gearlive) that has worked it out such that 1. you go to their gearlive and click on the 'referral link' of the person at the top of their free ipod list (i will provide the link to the list) 2. you comlete the free offer. 3. you sign up to get a free ipod, meaning you must complete another offer for yourself ..and five people you sign up, or 'refer' must also complete the offer, so the scam is that you email the gearlive guy YOUR referral link and email address. 4. they will add you to the gearlive list, and in a cyclical process, people will be completeing offers for those at the top of the list, as they add themselves to the bottom of the list. confused yet? i hope not, it'll be clear once you check through it. this page explains the process http://gearlive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92 this page provides the 'referral link' of the next person in line and will eventually list you when your number comes up http://gearlive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=240 eh, worth a shot. or we could duplicate the idea here at twelveski. SteveAustin
lemme know if yours shows mine as being completed. I found something on ebay I couldn't live without...so I put in a $1 bid. I actually think I'm gonna win with it. ha-ha.
!@#$%
both steve and nomada are listed as "joined., but offer not completed" i checked the gearlive page and this seems to be typical, with a lot of people claiming to not get confirmation of an offer completed for a couple of days. apparently there's a big rush of 'confirmations' around 6 pm EST. fuckin nerds. hahahaa. and there are a couple people on that site who have claimed to have received their free ipod. damn. now i'm almost wishing i had gotten the 20gig one. i didn't think it was gonna work. i'll be happy when [if] i get my pink mini though. still holds a whopping 1,000 songs with 8 hours of play. !@#$%
well, they have confirmed that i completed my own offer (which i did yesterday) so now i'm gonna see how long it takes to get confirmation on steve and nomada's offer completions. yay!! thanks guys! http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7459874 there's my referral link if anyone else wnats to help me out. maybe i'll be able to return the favor later?! Swiffer Jet
i plan to help one or some of you out later tonight. soo...i'm hoping you all will do that same with me :) edit: does a credit card number get involved?
!@#$%
it's hard to get away without giving up a credit card number. the aol one didn't require one the first time i tried it, the second time, it did. the ebay one does require one, but you only have to bid on something. most things are free but you have to cancel a day or two later. that site i provided the link to discusses it at length
SteveAustin
you don't need a credit card number if you use a 'real' email...ie. no hotmail or yahoo accounts. my work one worked fine. so where do I go to get a free G5?
-Rage-
So far this thing sucks. I did complete all of MY criteria. I then sent out 10+ e-mails. Four are now "joined. but offer not completed" and have been that way for a few days. I don't think it's working.
!@#$%
^3 out of five of mine are like that too. the gearlive people seem to think this is really common. just be patient.

!@#$%
AAA!!! NO read the shit. you now have to refer five peeps, each of whom must also complete an offer. then they send it. ***I have gotten five people to join. if you guys who joined also completed free offers, thanks a lot. then i'm almost done. the site is still showing 4 out of 5 as joined but not complete. when they all show complete (then i should get the ipod) i'll let you know whatup. it may take up to two weeks for an offer to show as completed. that's the fault of the website you did the offer through. SteveAustin
nomada...which offer did you pick if you don't mind my asking. I guess yours confirmed already...so I'm kinda curious as to which one does so immediately. holla. yeah...I still need people to join up and do the deal. http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7464768
nomadawhat
I did the e-bay deal. but, i am still waiting for confirmation too. must be another person... !@#$, what deal did whoever got confirmed use? do you only need to bid?? once?
!@#$%
ok austin. one down. the one that's been confirmed is whomever has an email ending in "psomas" *edit* you should only have to bid once. the gearlive people all seem to think this shit works.
