MisPantalonesEstaEnfuega
How easy is it for polaroid film to go bad? I was trying to do some proofing the other day when shooting some 4x5 stuff(using the polaroid 55 film) and every polaroid I was doing came out black. My actual film negatives shot at the same f/stops and shutter speeds were fine. I even tried different developing times. The film as been in my trunk for the last week and it's been nothing but cold so I know that can't be hurting it. I'm really bitter about this, a 20 exposure box is like $45 and I wasted like 8 of them trying to figure out what was wrong.
MrChupacabra
I've never used 55 film, but from past experiences with other polaroid film, it seems like it gets messed up very easily. It might even be possible polaroid film can get messed up from the cold. Not positive about unexposed film, but i know that photos i've taken in cold weather don't turn out as well and sometimes even don't turn out. If anyone here would know, it would be AA. MisPantalonesEstaEnfuega
I'm not sure the cold has anything to do with it because when I bought it it was sitting in a fridge. Captain Anger Pants would know! Dear Captain Anger Pants, When I purchased my Nikon body I was given a deal on a variable focus lens(28mm-80mm). This the only lens I own as I am impoverished college student. In my Fundamentals of Photography we class we performed tests to make sure our lenses were at the best quality they could be at. The meant we went through photographing newspaper at every f/stop for every focal length our lens had. Once developing my film and making a contact sheet I realized that my lens is unable to focus sharply between 28mm and 50mm which really sucks. So I need a new lens. This mean provided I come up with a couple hundred dollars by tomorrow I will more than likely bump into you at the Camera Convention. See you soon hombre, -K. MrChupacabra
Haha, oh man. My late night thought process is miserable. Yes, i'm fully aware you can keep polaroid film in a fridge, i just failed to think of that last night. Well, in that case, i'm really no help to you. My appologies, i tried. -Rage-
Cheif Fire Pants; If you left your film in the car, that's actualy not good. I know the temeratues recently went close or below 40 lately. This can actually throw off the balance of the chemicals in the packs. It's best to keep the film stored in a COOL and DRY place. While it was in your car it probably also went from COLD to Warm/HOT which destroyed the chemicals more with moisture. Also, I assume you did do this, but when taking the film out of refrigeration, it must sit for a few hours befire use. Here is a data sheet for the 55 film: http://www.polaroid.com/service/filmdatasheets/4_5/55fds.pdf Allllllllllllsoooooooo.. my AIM is on all night. If you are serious about going, let me know what time you may arrive. I'm about 30 min from the place. I'll leave you an IM with my cell #. Once again.. to anyone in the Philly area who want to see/buy a shitload of awesome photographic equipment... MisPantalonesEstaEnfuega
I picked up a nikkor af 28mm-200mm for $125. DEAL! After the camera show i have an unhealthy obsession with owning a medium format camera
-Rage-
^^^ wow kick ass. Yea, there were A LOT of medium formats there. I saw some nice ones for pretty cheap. By the way, that Polaroid Land 180 Model was $450. BUT it came with the case, filter kit, close-up kit, flash and all the other rare goods. That and it was SUPER clean. I was tempted, but.. half a grand.. damn. She also had a 195 Model for 350, with no case and a cracked cover.. blah.
MisPantalonesEstaEnfuega
half a grand for a polaroid? shit, it better clean your house and give you blow jobs for that money... What size is your fish eye? I've realized they are a complete novelity and am looking for a more practical one. Something that is full frame and mildly distorted...I'm thinking like 18mm? Does that sound right? Anyone?
-Rage-
haha the Polaroid Land SE BJ. Bitch... http://cyberdenis.topcities.com/nlens-1.htm My Phoenix fisheye isn't the best. It has more distortion around the edges than most because it's a .25X with a longer focal range. This kills the edges compared to a .45X, with a shorter focal range, the edges would be more in focus...
