dam skateboarding was my first love. My first real deck was a Lucero with the little elephant logo. i had airwalk shoes, vans caballeros, chukka's for the winter, Rat bones wheels. First time i met ewok in the mid 90s he was like "dont i know u from skateboarding?"lol. Mad circle was my shit, i think twist used to do graphics for them? I remember when grind king dropped their first sets of trucks, i was sold on their shit. they used to only do tools at first, but then their trucks dropped and they weighed half of everyone elses shit at the time. Element used to be called Underworld element and was one of the only ny based skate co's with all their team on the east coast untill they sponsored bill pepper. who at the time was a complete animal. forgive me if im rambling, im gonna post some links to my favorite skate clips from this era.

i dont really remember what year i quit but when they came out with underflips and hardflips, i had sweared up and down that every flip trick was already invented and i could do every one pretty efficiently. More clips from my era.

Close ....but Andy Howell and Johnny Sch..(spelling??) started it in ATL !!! Go watch the dvd's that come with Andy Howells book "Art, Skateboarding & Life" Super good stuff ... I had no clue how much Andy Howell influenced my art via New Deal, Zero Sophisto, Underworld Element till I watched those dvd's.

**Plus they have both New Deal flicks "Useless Wooden Toys" and "1281" on there ... full on Pressure flip, Casper flip era.
