Vanity Posted January 6, 2005 Author Share Posted January 6, 2005 thanks folks... i'll get crackalackin.. this looks pretty good/easy as well Lover's Garlic Steaks * 2 filet mignons or small porter house steaks * 1 tbsp virgin olive oil * 4 garlic cloves, chopped * 1/3 cup beef stock * 2 tbsp brandy * 1/4 cup heavy cream * salt and fresh ground pepper to taste Salt and pepper steaks. Heat oil in large heavy skillet over medium high heat. Add steaks and cook to desired doneness. (4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare) Remove to heated platter. Discard excess grease from skillet and add garlic. SautÈ until barely brown. Add beef stock to pan and then brandy. Reduce by half. Add cream and stir until heated through. Sneak it into someone's purse on the train. Smear it on the mouthpieces of the telephones of people you hate. Make garlic brownies and sell them at church bakesales. dead sentiment Posted January 6, 2005 Share Posted January 6, 2005 i make spinach & mushrooms w/ garlic... put some oil in a pan w/ thinly sliced garlic & fry it till the garlic turns light brown. toss in some sliced mushrooms. cook those for 5-7 minutes, then add in some chopped up spinach (i use fresh spinach but u can use frozen if u want i guess). stir that all around till the spinach is cooked and kinda soggy looking. add some salt & pepper... yummy yum yum Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mackfatsoe Posted January 6, 2005 Share Posted January 6, 2005 for a quick meal- put a pan on the stove, med/high, put olive oil and crushed garlic into the pan and fry that shit for a little, add salt and pepper. pour over pasta. add cheese. simple, but great before a night of forties and blunts and cheese fries. The following recipe is taken from "365 Ways to Cook Chicken" by Cheryl Sedaker. Forty Cloves of Garlic (serves 4) 2 tbsp butter 1/2 tsp dried thyme 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp salt 1 chicken, cut up 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper 40 garlic cloves, unpeeled 2 tbsp lemon juice Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large Dutch oven or kettle, melt the butter in the olive oil. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden on all sides (approximately 5 to 10 minutes). Remove all but 2 tablespoons of the fat. Add the garlic and stir until it is coated. Sprinkle garlic/chicken mixture with the remaining ingredients and add 1/4 cup of water. Cover tightly and bake for 1 and 1/2 hours.
