Vapid Posted September 11, 2010 Share Posted September 11, 2010 hey, i'm just starting out, and tryin to make my own ink. so far, all i've been using is pilot marker ink on my big pilot super marker, got a few questions: 1. i live in the philippines, so the brands i see here are almost nonexistent where i live, i saw some dot3 brake fluid in a shop, but it's a local brand, would that still work? 2. should i take the foam part off the marker (the one inside) when i put my ink in? or should i just keep it there. i was thinking it might drip on my hands if the foam is taken out. 3. would something like pilot ink, gentian violet, and dot3 brake fluid work? i can't seem to find any leather dye here, and the closest thing i can buy is some shoe polish, would that work too? 4. lastly, i was looking into making my own krink. since we don't have rusto here, what sort of chemicals or kind of paint should u be looking for? also, would it work on a pilot marker? cause if not, i could just make my own mop for it. don't wanna ruin my markers. thanks. 1. lot of people say dot3 doesnt even really help just increases the drying time but idk ive never used it. so i would say you dont really need it. 2. Keep it in there 3. I would say just use the pilot and gentian violet it will still be legit 4. Any silver bucket paint and thinner should be good. Put a little alcohol in the bottom of the bottle and cut them pens up, shake it up leave it for 24hrs. Bingo, you now have ink, its cheaper then buying ink online and makes a good amount.
