nice! is that a modified Fujimi kit? how did you paint the dark panel lines?

I knew it! after seeing the way you handled the decals on that hopper, knew you must have built models in the past

clean builds and paint on those - - ' must give props to others before you again...'

Hey you caught me haha, thanks. I think I'm going to dig one out to build here soon. There is a contest about to go down here and it kind of motivated me to give it a crack again.

so ive started on a pretty serious build, datsun 720 modified to a nissan hustler. in memoy of my best friend who was working on this truck for years before he passed away, the truck was never finished but he had a clear vision of how he wanted it to be. i would love to finish the real truck for him but i cant, so i am going to do the next best thing, finishing this replica for his dad who asked if i could do it.

im really taking my time on this but progress pics will come soon.

what kit project are you going to dig out?

some of those up there are contest material, at least looks like it from here

Not sure yet I guess I'm gonna have to dig through my kits. Thinking the top secret r34, kei office silvia.... or some sort of VIP car..... I have to start on it feb 1 and be done by the end of the month.

Just found this thread. I havent put together a model in years. I used to build em all the time as a youngster. Mostly star wars shit. I remember a particularly daunting Emperial Star Destroyer. But I am currently looking at an Incredible Hulk model by Polar Lights and a Dr.Zira(planet of the apes) model by Aurora. They have been sitting on my shelf for years. I might just put one together. Thanks for the inspiration.

and.............

fist 666 , 4x4 , thanks cool!

_:MemphisOrDie:_, if you build the Dr.Zira, post progress here so we can check it out. As far as Gundam scale info on the models, I've only built one at 1/144. Usually more parts just means more time required and as wafflecakee says, if you have the money for the larger import scale kits

wafflecakee, Badass build. What kit suit is that? a lot of the line work are washes (thinned paint) touched into the recesses and detail

Ok so I opened the Hulk and Dr.Zira models and both require painting. Im not ready for that kind of commitment. Im looking at this to ease my way back into the model game:

Anybody have any recomendations on good kits that dont require painting? Im leaning more towards scifi kinda shit than cars..........

And speaking of models are yall familiar with Gerry Anderson? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Anderson Im watching Thunderbird6 right now and godamn I love some thunderbirds. The models are fucking top notch.Supermarionation ftw. I found this but its $600.

yeah I'd like to get one of those kits too. I'm reading that the Japanese company, Aoshima's version is much higher quality in detail

I think they only made the Back to the Future II version though

and since we're on the topic of movie car model kits made in Japan, I'd also like to build up a Ford Falcon Interceptor from Mad Max or the Road Warrior version
