thismachinekills
if i'm looking for a good wideangle, should i stick with the 20mm f/2.8 for like $560, or shell out the extra $100 for the 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5? 20mm- http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-20mm-Nikkor-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00005LEOC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252460224&sr=8-1 18-35mm- http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-18-35mm-3-5-4-5D-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00005LE7A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252460649&sr=1-
samdrake123
The 18-35 in my opinion. Its got a bit of zoom that you might like at some point, so thats always a plus. And its a bit wider anyway. It really depends if you have the extra 100 or if youre willing to wait a bit to get it.
Spaceman Spiff
I actually prefer a fixed focal length than any zoom lens.
Mercer
My first one was the 18-35 well worth the extra $100 and it has macro which is handy. I have a very dark neutral density stuck on mine right now and it will not come off.
thismachinekills
is a .7 difference in aperture gonna make that much of a difference when shooting skating/biking? this question is mainly for jon haha. thanks for the knowledge though guys. XJONATHONX
I mean, I'd go with the 20 2.8. Fixed is going to be a sharper than the zoom. The 3.5-4.5 is what i wouldnt like. It means when youre zoomed in to 35mm, you wont be able to stop down to 3.5, 4.5 will be the lowest you can go. Up to you.
