TheoHuxtable..
Finally graduated to SLR today. Copped me a Canon 40D, used. And the condition was like new. With an 85mm midrange aperture lens. 6.5 shutter rate. Wanted a wide aperture lens, but that shit's too expensive. Will probably post some flicks. Mercer
Theo, you can get a fixed focal length wide apeture pretty cheap, Nikon makes a F1.8 for around $100 . Most of my favorite pics are taken using lenses with no zoom.

samdrake123
thats my flickr one post up. i cant figure out how to post flicks on 12oz, so untill i do.... to get the url for the image on flicker, you have to press "all sizes" or something, which is above the pictures, and it will take you to a screen that lets you view the different sizes. when you click a diff. size, it will give you the url. Hope this helps
Mercer
Or you could just use photobucket, not as social as flickr but much easier for image embedding.

Most of my favorite pics are taken using lenses with no zoom. Thanks for the info. I'm not big on fixed focus though. The adjustable zoom wide aperture, from what I remember what the cameraman told me, can run in the several hundreds and over a thousand. That's more than the camera body. TheoHuxtable..
nice! How do you like it? It's cool, just trying to learn it. Had been using point-and-shoot digitals since around '99. SLRs reminds me of cameras in the pre-digital age.
MayorMeanBeans
some recent stuff- an ongoing project i've been doing here is on gentrification, and accordingly, the restoration of building. have had to get back into architectural photography, im pretty rusty at it. some older shots i went back and re editted in bw:

Most of my favorite pics are taken using lenses with no zoom. Didnt expect that from you. "wide aperature" would technically be something like f/2.8 "wide angle" is like 35mm Theo-you could buy old fd mount lenses and with an adapter ($30 off ebay) put them on your 40d. Good choice btw, its what I shoot with haha.

azert
My laptop is completely fucked, so I had to resize these on flickr, making the quality not so good. Hopefully I'll have pics with my new lenses at the end of this week.
