Good stuff all around guys-

 

So this is where i need a little critiquing here (and those tennis pics above)- i think they're cool, but form-wise, kind of lacking. any recommendations?

 

 

1. Get closer or get a longer lens.

2. Adjust your aperture so that the background is blurred out.

3. Shoot the action. IE the serve - not half a second after the serve.

 

Here's a photo from tennis.com that kinda sums up what I'm saying.

Your second one is nice, but the angle could have been better.

yeah that makes sense.those pictures apertures were 5.6, i needed the quicker shutter speed for the shot. i definitely shoulda rocked my other lens, 55 mm is still too far away. i took the photos that look like these, however, i chose the ones that i posted because i felt that they told the "entire story". for example, the photo of the girl you posted: its not so clear if the ball is coming or going, she might miss it, she might be trying to hit it to the right. the john mcenroe is fantastic, the girl one, i dont think so much of.
