soul vice
I started a little midwest music/art/culture blog... there will be more stuff but I'm planning on having a lot of it be local (midwest) hardcore bands. Here's a couple up now, self promo homo- http://cloakxdagger.blogspot.com/ Also MrChupa- how do you make it so that the side bars won't cut off pictures? Do you have to re-size them manually or what? MrChupacabra
I upload to photobucket, then click the add picture thing and add it as a web address. Align it to the left and use the large size, not the original size (assuming the image isn't already small enough to begin with). If you're just using images from another site like myspace or flickr or whatever, just skip the uploading to photobucket step. When people click the picture it brings them to the fullsize photo from photobucket or whatever site it's from.
soul vice
I paste the image location, align it to the left, and select large size but it just posts the original size every time. Fuck.
MrChupacabra
Some promotion for a friend's first release on his label. I'm guessing he'll up it to Fashionable Activism once he's sold his share/distro'd the rest. In the meantime, there are a couple songs on http://passjudgement.blogspot.com/ down at the bottom and 2 others on http://www.myspace.com/muchworsempls. Buy em here: http://passjudgement.bigcartel.com/ Much Worse - Proper Execute EP PS: this album fucking rips.

Virtue
I saw a band at Warped Tour a few years back called The Toaster. Weird name for a band, but they weren't half bad at all. I fucking love hardcore music though. Like, for real doe. Anybody in here like Our Last Night? Not too hardcore, but a beast band. How about The Ghost Inside?

The Much Worse album is also up there now for all the rest of you to download: http://fashionableactivism.blogspot.com/2010/04/out-now-much-worse-proper-execute-7_04.html I haven't gotten around to listening to the Veins CS yet, but i can cosign the Raw Nerve LP being killer. Been listening to it for a few weeks now ontop of their demo which is also fucking awesome. Here's the demo, also yoinked from fashionableactivism: http://fashionableactivism.blogspot.com/2009/05/raw-nerve.html edit: I'm guessing i'll have some distros to dig through at the Abused/Career Suicide/Formaldehyde Junkies show this saturday, so i might actually get around to ripping some vinyl and doing some updates on my blog in the near future as well, since my money has been tight and i haven't been able to really buy much vinyl in awhile now. MrChupacabra
Fucking amazing. I was disappointed that Career Suicide only played one song from the first anthology time frame, but their set was still awesome. Can't remember the last time I've seen people go off as hard as they did for Formaldehyde Junkies. Kinda weird for me going from seeing them in basements with maybe 45 people and only 1-15 people moving at all, to seeing them in a decent sized venue with like 100+ people diving and going fucking nuts. Only bad thing about that show was that the venue room was like 110 degrees and there was no fresh air getting in at all. 30 seconds worth of moving and i'd be fully winded and never able to catch my breath since it was like breathing in stale smoke and BO in there. The crowd was great though, and even though i found myself on the floor 10+ times, everyone was really quick to pick people up and go right back about their business. At some point on the floor (I would assume) i seemed to acquire a nice road rash across my forehead from jeans or a belt, but thats all part of the game. Also: DUDE IN A FUCKING ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR CRUISING AROUND THE PIT DURING CAREER SUICIDE'S ENTIRE FUCKING SET, JUST MASHING INTO PEOPLE WITH THE THING. UNREAL. Edit: there were an absolute shit ton of people filming and taking pictures, so i'll post some up in the next few days once people get around to posting them on b9 or wherever else i can find them

MrChupacabra
Honestly, that dude gets so much respect from me. Instead of sitting in the back and not being able to see shit, dude just said, "fuck this, i'm going to have just as much fun as everyone else in the pit, moshing and singing along like crazy." I was impressed by how respectful people were of him too. No one stopped moshing because he was there, but most everyone was looking out to make sure he didn't get fucking mauled or knocked over. Next time i hear someone complain about getting knocked around because they're small, or just a pussy, i'm going to be able to tell them about the time a kid in an electric wheelchair rocked the pit nonstop for Career Suicide. Edit: some pictures up here: http://www.riverfronttimes.com/slideshow/the-abused-career-suicide-at-fubar-4-10-10-29654295/ More will be popping up very quickly i'm sure. Here's a grip of rad ones out of the bunch THIS FUCKING DUDE! Getting in on Formaldehyde Junkies sing alongs again, 3 years after their last show, will definitely be a highlight of 2010. facemeltAAARGH
pretty intense man, looks fucking fun as hell too. i wish we had alot of shows like that in nyc, or maybe im just looking at the wrong places. WHEELCHAIR DUDE FTW!
Fist 666
just based on the few NY area bands i follow i'd most certainly say you're looking in the wrong place. if you haven't done so go to a DEATH THREAT show. seriously.
MrChupacabra
To be honest, shows of that calber are a pretty rare occurance. People came out to st Louis from all over the place, including winnipeg, minneapolis, boston, new york, denver, etc etc. If it makes you feel any better, that was the first punk/hardcore show I've been to since June, not because I don't want to go to shows but because there have been none in the cities I've been living in since I left Minneapolis

oh_snap
if the dude in the wheelchair is who i think it is, he used to do vox for a band called commander kc in indianapolis. during pile ons kids would literally stand on his lap. i saw him make a girl cry because she parked in a handicap spot at a show once, it was very entertaining.
