It doesn't bother me that they had to switch there name because honestly who is going to call the band "shipwreck a.d." no one...everyone is still always going to say "shipwreck" and thats what they will be know as.

and bump serum for all those old flix..i got super excited looking at them

i've only heard a few of those.

i really haven't been part of the hardcore scene since 02/03.

that line up that chupacabra posted last week: i talked about it with one of my best friends who, like me, hasn't been a part of hardcore for a few years. we reminisced. that line up made me wish i still gave a shit about hardcore. i had so much fun back then. good times and good friends, and now... i just don't see "hardcore" giving kids what it used to give me.

yep.

colin of arabia is rad.

the devil wears prada- not hardcore

there are tons of amazing hardcore bands out there once you dig through the layers of crap.

kids who are actually looking to jump into newer hardcore.

Here are some of the more popular (hyped up) bands right now

have heart (unbroken style mid 90s influences)

verse (RI straight edge)

ceremony (infest style)

shipwreck (brutal and emotional)

pulling teeth (the next ringworm?)

the first step (old youth crew sound)

Exactly.

Whenever I go to shows now, I'm bored to death with 99.9% of the bands.

I've seen Have Heart, Verse, Ceremony, Shipwreck, etc., etc., etc. several times.

Verse was okay at the start, but I got bored to death with them really quick.

The other ones mentioned were even quicker.

It's nothing personal, most of the dudes in those bands are cool, I just find that everything sounds the same now.

And being into this stuff just seems way too "cool".

Up until a few years ago, you were probably an outcast or something if you were into hardcore/etc.

We would all skate and then go to shows at night and there was much more of a genuine sense of "community" (or something....) than there seems to be now.
