varivaldi
I never caught those Whisper Whites on the shelves, only at the closeout spots. The Frost one is a really nice white, the rest are not bad but not great.
IRON CHEF
HA, I REMEMBER THEM 5 OR 6 SHADES OF WHITE. PISSED I NEVER TRIED ANY OF THEM. WHO GOTS FLICKS OF ANY ZYLONITE, 85% OF WHAT I USED IN THE 80's

HAL
When those whites came out, I thought to myself "these won't last long, i should probably scoop one of each". Never did, though.

EPMDfan
@ 1:33 such a waste of a perfectly good can of Jungle Green!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBGkcyoPejA From the same movie... EPMDfan
In thinking about movies that have spray cans in them it reminded me of this from Beat Street when they first show Spit going over Remo in the abandoned station. The can looks like it's about an inch short. It's obviously a Name on Can can and all the other proportions on the can are correct except for the bottom of the can. I even held a can in my hand the exact same way and the can appears to be about an inch short... very weird...
IRON CHEF
i know of at least 4-5 movie mistakes in that movie, regarding that shot- check the movie when spit sprays one of the walls or trains (I forget which) but before he sprays you see a slightly clear tag that already says SPIT right where he traces over it with the real paint. EPMDfan
So I was at my boys shop the other day flicking a bunch of cans and he picked up the Groovey Green Wet Look and was like damn this thing is light... And I told him yeah it is weird cause I got it and it is like brand new but felt like all the paint had leaked out and then I popped the lid off to show him how the cap had no paint on it and I notice that the top part of the can is at an angle. So I take a pic of it and take a small screw driver and pop it out to look inside the can and see whats up. When I popped it off I nearly shit... No paint, no ball, completely brand new inside!!!! At this point I thought a couple things... Was it a fuck up and shipped empty? The answer to that is obviously no because you can see the nozzle tube is only half as long as it should be and doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the can as it should. So all I can think is that this was some type of display or sample can but I thought I would share with all of you... Enjoy... Notice the inside of what a fat seam looks like, almost like a zipper... EPMDfan
Another interesting can we flicked is one of my Jungle Greens. The can had leaked all over the side when using it years ago but I just left the can like that I kinda liked it as a display piece. When I moved the can was put in a crate and in storage and when I pulled it out of storage it looked like this... The top must have been leaking slowly and pushed the cap out of the can and is entombed in this glob of shit... Never seen anything like this before... Also included a few group shots of some cans just laying on the ground...

Slyle CMC
That krylon coulda been a smaller can where they just put a cut krylon paper label on it......interesting on the green wet look.....do you know the history of where the can came from, that could be an idea. I have seen diplay cans at trade shows, but sometimes they dont have that top part at all. Could very well be a salesman sample....
EPMDfan
^^^ The Wet Look I got at the recycle so no idea it's history BUT I have a right on red that if I recall had the same thing going on with it and had an equally clean label, next time i go to the storage I am gonna dig it out and check that one as well... EPMDfan
nice freudian slip calling RAMO remo. hahaha You got me on that one... whoops... yo E i need an Icy Grape we should talk. Hollar at me on FB or email Bem... It looks like Icy Grape changed through the years of its commercialisation hasn't it? Lookin at the caps on E pictures i see a big difference of shade. Keep in mind that lid colors can and did vary slightly due to the different manufacturers producing the different styles of lids. Lids also fade over time from fluorescent lights in stores and sunlight... I have 5 different can styles of Cascade Greens sitting here and not 2 of the lids match perfectly they are all slightly different even though I know that 2 of them came directly out of sealed cases... varivaldi
Cans from north and south of the border. As far as I can tell anyway. Discount spot. Each can has at least 2 labels wrapped on top of one another while some have had up to 7 paper labels over top of each other. Weird. Very very weird. Anyone with any thought, please share. Thanks. eviltrailer77
I have seen the "mexican" krylon at discount spots for a while, but only satin black and clear. The rest are new to me. The one Canadian krylon i did get my hands on looked damn near the same, but with the canadian warning logos much smaller and no french text on it. I think i may still have it around here some where. I will post up if I can find it. EDIT: That copper looks delicious!
Slyle CMC
I had that once with plasticote cans from canada, think I counted 3-4 labels on it, but never 7.....and they kept flip flopping canada, us, canada, us.....

alloverthetown
I def copped some mexican krylons... Got two browns.... EPMD, the wet looks, that's not one of those "faux stash your drugs and valubles" cans by any chance? I know that's a long shot. Did they ever make a paint brand aerosol hide-a-bles cans?
EPMDfan
^^^ Definately not a stash can, this is a fat seam can from the 70's they didn't make the stash cans til the 90's...
LICKERISH
Could also be something similar to a "proof" in the printing biz...something someone had to sign off on packaging wise before going into mass production. I think your first hunch is right though, that it's some sort of sales sample.
