How much weight is being put on them? If they are made like a hollowed-core door, then all that is in the middle is really thin plywood braces. How long have yours been up?

Even if they screw them to studs, the weight on the shelves will cause them to sag or break in a very short time. I would not put a TV on anything like that. I build alot of shelves and they all sag if the span is too far when they are supported on TWO sides. These are only supported on one side and even if they are connected to the wall with something that will never break, the shelves will start to sag from their own weight in less then a few months. I saw some sheelves like this in Ikea and I remember they were not really well made.

I had one of my Soldiers get Spinal Meningitis. Fucked him up good for a little while. He got put in quarantine in a hospital in Verona Italy and was stuck there for two weeks. Chairs are hard, because you have to get the angles just right. You will need a full woodworking shop to make them from scratch. Table saw, Band saw, jointer, planer, router. Also, depending on how you want to join the pieces, you might need a set of chisels or a jig for making mortise and tenons. Look up sam maloof, his chairs are considered some of the best.
