DETO
since lately the weather has been getting warmer and after downloading Mediterranean Vibes by DJ Chus and David Penn (Thank you Kilo!) I can't wait for summer to come. It's almost time to break out the board shorts and flip flops, sippin on blender drinks poolside. so i decided to start making my first "warm weather" mix of the season. and i have a few songs, but to get an idea of what else to put on my summer mix(s) what do you listen to come summer time? my summer favorite has to be old school classic The Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff's Summertime.
Dr. Dazzle
Sitting on the stoop, smoking blunts and drinking 40's, blasting out old punk records. Man I miss those days. Guest
glad you liked it deto. to make the ubermix: You have to toss in some Babel Gilberto, some K&D Sessions dub style downtempo, some Samba Squad to get authentic, anything from the Bob Sinclair 'Africanism' series, and that 'Steal My Sunshine' song by Len, just for a laugh. in 14 days I will be on a plane to Antiqua. Antiguq has 365 beaches, one for each day of the year!
fermentor666
I pretty much listen to the same things all year round.

Gunm
Next Level by Show Biz and A.G. not the original version ( which blows) but the snappy remix that is a jazzy, mellow, atmospheric mix that makes me think of rolling to the city in a drop top on a warm evening Anything off Atmospheres 7 Head Shots album would work good too. The whole '93 till infinity is a pretty choice album I would also reccomend the whole Dr Dre "The CHronic" album. Solid gold. The definitive rap album of the nineties

MartiansOnMeth
oh dear god i am stoked out of my mind for summer. except that we fucking moved into a house without a pool like, 6 months ago. i dunno what the fuck im gonna do with myself now that i cant just bake out poolside wearing a speedo and wayfarers (you must wear wayfarers during the summer. must.) and listening to blondie while eating benzos and drinking homemade smoothies and bahama mamas all day. oh wait, im gonna be moving back to new orleans in may. haha. rock n roll. for the summer months, i usually tend to lean toward hypnotic, repetitive late 70s, early 80s jams. the repetitive beat tends to go well with the heat and slowness of lounging around all day and cruising around all night. CRUCIAL summer bands: blondie a flock of seagulls japan duran duran heaven 17 joy division human league more blondie and more seagulls all kinda sorta played, but SO appropriate for slow summer days. master bait
I guess I'm feeling that repetitive beat part, only with underground hiphop. Just lately found some good stuff that I think I could listen on and on... cant go wrong with joy division though.
