i was reading time magazine and came across an article about an artist named matthew barney. hes famous for a series of films labeled CREMASTER ( this is the muscle that moves your balls according to the temperature).

ive seen various pictures and story lines from the film and it looks pretty wild. the guy is having a show at the Guggenheim soon for all you nyc kids.bjork is also this guys baby's mama

so if anyone knows about where i could find these films the help would be greatly appreciated.

its a huge work that took ten years and it involves 5 high-budget movies (the last one, cremaster 3 recently completed the whole "cremaster cycle"), huge sculptures made, for example, of frozen vaseline, drawings, and photographs.

The movies are only shown at the exhibition, the last one was at the centre georges pompidou in paris, and now its at the guggenheim in new york, and i think ill take the trip down there before it ends.

Since they are not distributed, all you can see is the pictures in the catalogues.

Id also like to know more about his earlier performances.

im from buffalo ny and these films recently came to a movie theatre near me. i went to go see it them with my older brother, it had some of the weirdest shit i have ever seen. Like some dude is in a dentist chair and he doesnt have a penis but a fleshy stump instead and all of a sudden a part of his intestine pops out and this goop pours out with his teeth in it. A shit load of other weird stuff also happened man it was just some weird stuff i was trying to follow a plot line but i couldnt find one. I tried tellin some of my friends about it and they thought i was full of shit cause the stuff in this movie is just so damn weird.

i saw one of these "films" last year at school. My sculpture prof knew Barney and got a bootleg of a few of the films. Their not really that long, the one i saw was only about 20 minutes or so. The shit is truely weird. My prof also told me that Barney releases 100 original copies of each Cramaster film, and they sell to all of the soho yuppie art collectors for thousands of dollers at auctions.

I also saw some of his earlier work that he did as a grad student at Yale. Like this weird short film of him picking off one of his scabs, and other movies on par with that in content.

that is all.
