Guest --zeSto--
not to be preachy... but I've gone 7 days without one, and it feels fucking great! You get better sleep, better taste, more stamina and way better circulation. I just wanted to tell everyone. No doubt, my saying this wont influence anyone, but think of this... It only takes one puff to make a cancerous cell. Which of the 4000 smokes you will have in the next 2 years will it be? (sorry... that was preachy) clean and loving it... now about the drinking... Dirty_habiT
I quit, it was one of the best things I have done. It's hard at first but you can do it, and you will feel alot better when you do. I smoked for about 6 years, which is plenty long enough to know the damn deal about being addicted. Doing things for yourself always feels good. Like accomplishing things....ya know?

RumPuncher
I'm going to quit smoking (again) I did a search on the subject (imagine that) and found this old thread. Clearly it's time to try again. To be honest, I have no idea why I started up again. Even now people see me smoke and say 'when'd you start?' I've been smoking for over a year this time, but it's quitting time. this isn't inspired by some lame New Year's resolution, it's inspired by the pain in my chest and the whistling sound I've started to make before I fall asleep. http://www.whyquit.com has some great information. This wednesday is garbage day, and all my ashtrays and lighters etc. are going to be landfill. I didn't toss my ashtrays lays time, probably because I knew it wouldn't last. There we go! RumPuncher
maybe the New years has a bit to do with it, or my upcoming birthday, but whatever the case, I know I've got to do it now if I ever want to be free of the demons.

RumPuncher
I read that all nicoteen is out of your bloodstream in 72 hours. In the past when I quit, I actually enjoyed getting the cravings and beating them. Maybe I'm a sucker for punishment, or I needed that feeling of overcoming something. I've given the tabaco companies too much of my goddamn money. About $10,000!!! :shook:
