bloc party was one of those bands i thought were just riding the new "dance party" indie wave of popularity and were popular just because they were super trendy. then i got off my high horse and actually listened to their album and i realized they are actually really really good. that is all.

not exactly hardcore but the other day i was introduced to Old Man Gloom which has the bassist of converge and the bassist from cave in along with the singer of Isis, their album Meditations in B is this weird mixture of sludge metal and grindcore and it's fucking rad. the end.
