CityonSMASH
baseball trades are always weird like that, just salary dumps alot of the time. definatly unique to itself within all of pro sports.

IOU
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/thelife/news/story?id=5178149 A song about Doc Halladay winning 30 games. Lyrics are pretty cool, from a project headed by Steve Wynn called: The Baseball Project.. Not for a lot you.
IOU
I watch a game last night and one of the announcers mentioned something interesting, basically it was about today's relief pitcher versus some of the ones from the 80s. These dudes used to pitch 2 or 3 innings to close a game out... Fingers, Gossage, Sutter, Garber and the like. That's a touch role to fill, but do yall think these new school cats would be as good if the had to pitch more than one inning?
abcs
Granderson is a good ball player and he seems to be a stand up guy. That said he cant hit left handed pitching to save his life I'm not sure why we traded him. We picked up Jackson and Coke in the deal. So far both have shown alot of potential. From New Yorks perspective its almost a no brainer. AAA talent can fizzle out in the big league and do nothing. They came off 2 farm prospects for 1 proven to be good ball player. At the same time Granderson has some limitations and he is a known quantity. Known to be good but we also kno the limit of his ability. Tigers dont have a salary budget like NY. Detroit has to maneuver, takes risks, and shoot moves to build up its club. NY on the other hand can buy the best player at every position... or so it would seem. Watch out for Detroit. Got 3 bats swinging at 350 or higher. another 3 between 290 and 350. A catcher you really cant steal on Bullpen has been on point. If Zumaya could add a 4th pitch he would be beyond legit for starting. Dude can thro 104. Tigers could use another starter. We got 3 solid and a few that are kinda shaky. Dont think we lost a home series yet. Played for just under 500 on a tough west coast roadtrip. That Twins series is the only time i seen them really falter this season

CityonSMASH
halladay is an amazing pitcher and hes old school in the sense hes all about the complete game. not that the blue jays are by any means looked at up here as "canada's team" but obviously we do get alot of there games on tv etc. and its kinda sad seein him in another jersey, but also kool. he was very very loyal to toronto and i dont think a player moving on has done so with more class than Roy, glad to see him go to a great team and wish em the best. the Phils are a team my fav's anyways. hats off. Ferris Bueller
God, the Red Sox play the Yankees a zillion times this year. Fucking scary Twins-Yankees series this past week. Highly frustrating. Except Kubel's GS against Mariano was a fucking beautiful sight. Hopefully that woke the kid up and he'll snap out of his slump. Not doing so well after a 29HR, 100RBI season last year. Ready for the Blue Jays series this week followed by games at Boston.

Ferris Bueller
PER SE Papelboondoggle lost that one for the Red Sox, completely. I don't really root for either team - it was on after the Twins-Jays game (YO WEAPON X!). But that was a terrible performance for a closer. The Martinez or the pitching coach should have been out there talking to him as soon as Teixiera flew out (and deep). What makes you think you're going to get away with a save if you keep leaving the fucking ball up over the plate to the heart of the Yankees order? Dumbass.
