$3.7 Million Dollars to buff 1 tag.. MTA roller

I thought that this was big enough to post here…

Next Monday the roller is being buffed by our wonderful army reserves as part of their “cleaning up LA”. The city claims that it needs to be cleaned because the oil based paint is “toxic”. I was informed that this is happening by an acquaintance that had to help organize the “event”.

The media is making a big deal of it, and it will be on cnn that night. Evidently they are not just buffing the roller but a large part of the river. I hope this reaches the right people.

Re: mta roller in the la river is gettin buffed

They can't buff it by blasting it because the runoff would run into the river.

I hardly doubt that *dried* paint can cause any harm at all.

While wet it can be hazardous for sure but dry? I don't think so.

LA's really slacking on the prioritization of their money.

They could be feed skid row.

That roller was fucking HUUUGE and I don't want to see it buffed.

& I will hate your "acquaintance" if this goes through.

pressure washers and or sand blasters

vacutrucks to suck up all the run off.

spill containment kits including sand bags , socks, etc

not to mention all the manpower.

serious $$$ even if a good portion of materials or labor is donated.

plus being either fed, county, state, city.

even more ridiculous.

trust me i work for a city and shit is retarted how they spend money.

they will try to justify it by saying it's hazardous to the public or improving the Los Angeles landscape by removing 'gang scrawling' etc.

i wonder if it's fed grant money for improvement.
