The city claims that it needs to be cleaned because the oil based paint is “toxic”. I was informed that this is happening by an acquaintance that had to help organize the “event”. The media is making a big deal of it, and it will be on cnn that night. Evidently they are not just buffing the roller but a large part of the river. I hope this reaches the right people. dried paint isnt toxic.and even if it was it would be only a minute percentage of all the disgusting,toxic shit thats ALREADY in that river.it was dirty before and it will be dirty after.this is just an excuse for them to spend a shit load of money that they otherwise wouldnt have gotten away with.i heard is gonna take a milli to cover it or someting rediculous like that.i smell bullshit. edit:wouldnt it be more cost effective to just leave it there? and then use the money and have it go somewhere its actually needed like helping the poor/homeless population? becuase spending hella money on something thats just gonna get painted again and again and again and on a spot that most people really dont give a fuck about anyways.does how the LA river look really effect your life?fuck no.it has no impact on you in the slightest.most people wouldnt even give that river bed a second thought if it was just bare concrete.but god forbid it has graffiti on it.why not use the money to help people that actually need it.
