For stuff like this I think it is always a good idea to keep in mind how much your personal time is worth. The way I work it out is I take my hourly wage and multiply by 1.5 and figure that amount is about what my personal time is worth.

 

So if you buy the bike for 100 dollars put another 100 in parts and tools to restore in a process that takes you 20 hours and sell for 600 to figure if it was worth your time do the math on the hours. 400 dollars profit /20 hours of work comes to 20 dollars per hour.

 

If you enjoy the work for its own sake that can, of course, offset this idea to one degree or another.
