dwel
hey fellas. I need some suggestions. I'm looking to put a better system in my whip, and I dont want to spend a whole lot of money or have to cut anything to make the bigger speakers fit. What I have: Clarion CD deck from 1912 that is a piece of shit and doesnt play cd's 4 4x6 speakers that have no range and crackle what id like: new deck (cheap) 4 new 4x6's possibly a bass tube or small sub to put behind the driverside seat my whip: 1986 Porsche 944 (pure 80's awesomeness) I'm retarded with car audio, but driving in silence/shitty fm radio is driving me mad. Thanks in advance, props to follow. /nosoundbucket

acer910
what causes trunk rattle? is it just because its in the trunk? ive never heard rattle like that from a system in a truck. just got a 90 oldsmobile regency and i dont want it to rattle when i put subs in. MomentIsNow
The air that the subs are pushing have nowhere to go, so it pushes it's way out by moving the trunk. Therefore causing trunk rattles.

MomentIsNow
Try pointing your subs forward, towards the cabin. That should help a bit. You can tighten down the bolts and connectors in your trunk too, if you have the time.
redeyedanimal
I have an old family friend that owns his own car stereo shop. Dude always takes apart the trunk, basically, and puts little rubber gaskets on the loose meeting points so that there is no metal on metal rattle. It takes a few hours, but he does the best job in this part of the state.
