Kids wore uniforms back then and kids wear regular clothes now. It depends on what school decides to enforce uniforms or dress codes. So while if the country was left-handed, they'd totally be screwed, if it was right-handed it wouldn't be so bad. Either way, eating and writing with the legs would be totally optional.
