Well, truth be told the US has the best basketball hands down. At the same time your players are always acting like little spoiled bitches in all world cups (see:olympics 2004) that i doubt you'll take it in the end, add the dopefest you seem to be involved in and shit gets nastier.

i thought it was a pretty valid one.... if you were talking about the US team then no we didnt have a very good team...we lost to fucking GREECE in BASKETBALL....who did we beat??? dirk and 4 other guys from the washington senators??? it wasnt a very good showing for the stars and stripes...if youre talking about greece hey i tip my hat to you somewhere along the line players from the US stopped caring about how to SHOOT the ball and started concentrating on how to duplicate the EAST BAY FUNK DUNK from the 96 dunk competition...its a sad state of affairs.....

Yeah, i'm from Greece and while there's no doubt that the NBA is simply the best thing in basketball the same thing doesnt count for your Dreamteam (check the 2004 olympics for the most recent disgrace on an international level). You're also kinda ignorant on

basketball outside the US as it seems. The very same Greek team that will be playing on the final this sunday won the Eurobasket last year, so you were playing against Europe's champions, not exactly dirk and 4 other guys. In any way, losing sucks

you are right i am ignorant on basketball in other countries for the most part...other countries have a few guys that come in and are stars in the NBA but for the most part the best players in the NBA are born and raised in the US..if we entered the detroit pistons or the miami heat into this kind of a contest they wouldnt lose a game...the greek team and most other teams for that matter play together (in your euroleague) all year round while we throw a team together 2 weeks before the contest and almost win the whole thing...basketball in this country is a lot better than anywhere else in the world but as i said its getting way too much into a run and gun dunk competition on a nightly basis with everyone trying to get on sportscenter instead of caring about winning the game...granted this years team did play some pretty good defense and i think if we stick with the guys long enough they will be dominant with some time to mesh...

but yes, for 'the most part' they come from the US.

I think that's because the scouts are lazy and would

rather travel from college to college instead of from

country to country. Yao ming being an exception.
