  1. He is/has been fighting an all out battle against the distribution and (questionable) effects of violent and sexually explicit videogames from a "moral high ground" standpoint: he often slings out blanket insults at gamers, essentially branding them as immoral slackers who do nothing for anyone, ever When trying to attack like that, your reputation and integrity is a big part of your arsenal - it shows him up that he didn't come through with money that he promised (to a goddamn charity, of all things!) and he has been shown up by, of all people, two of the biggest gaming geeks on the face of the earth The fact that the donation was made in his name was just Penny Arcade's ironic sense of humour - everyone -knows- he wasn't responsible for it, they're just showing him up Iunno, I guess I might just have a different understanding of it since I've been following it all kinda closely
  2. A mildly disjointed crashcourse in the situation Quick rundown for those who don't feel like reading much 1. Jack Thompson, part-time attorney, full-time asshole, has a bone to pick with the gaming industry over violence, sex and all the other stuff that holier-than-thou people tend to have 2. Jack Thompson mouths off. A lot. A lot a lot. Picks fights with a lot of people 3. Jack Thompson makes a proposal for a violent video game - if anyone can execute it, he will donate $10,000 to a charity of Paul Eibeler's (the Chairman of Take-Two Interactive) (GTA's publishers, I believe) choice 4. The game is produced by a bunch of dedicated and humourous gamers 5. $10,000 fails to materialise 6. Penny Arcade (who have locked horns with Jack Thompson several times) decide that just to show the asshole up, they're gonna make that $10,000 donation. To charity. In his name And that, kids, is how to completely humiliate someone who's already managed to humiliate himself into the gutter. Penny Arcade has already raised a fuckload of money for charity through their ChildsPlay drive, and here they are donating yet more money to a good cause AND totally winning at the same time Interesting stuff
  3. I enjoy fire poi The sheer number of times I've set myself on fire is getting hilariously ridiculous now, it's a miracle I still have all my body hair

  5. I'm not too famililar with French slang, but if I'm not mistaken "Frotte Connard" literally translates to "Rub Idiots'? Doesn't sound like much of a graffiti crew name...
  6. Someone got the flick of the huge blockbuster done (I think) one letter all across the top of each of Les Avanchets buildings? I saw it in another thread and was wondering if someone can dig it up...
  7. I came here to stalk Key ...I'm kidding, in case you were wondering Can't remember how the hell I ended up here, but after reading it for a while I decided hey, I can say stuff that people might listen to as well. Or something

    The Babble

If you can't find it under the name of "Triplets of Belleville", the original name it was released under was Belleville Rendezvous. I'm pretty sure it's on DVD by now.
  16. I dunno why that picture was pulled, but I have two notes on it: 1. The whole of Europe called, they want their style back 2. If anyone still has that thing of the "Is your style gay?" thing, please post it.
  17. Why is it that Kooter's B demonstrates knowledge of bar structure and hole alignment, as well as a nice extension, while his G shows nothing of the sort....? ...just sayin.

    Handstyles

Well, until I noticed that you write Sent, that just looks like "Ent" crossed out with some squiggle. As nice as I'd like to be, it's fucking wack. But so you don't just start spouting shit and calling me a toy, I'll just tell you that to start with try keeping your letters the same size, and in the correct, normal, left to right order. Go check that Oiler. That's what I call a handstyle.

    Handstyles

Umm.. why have you crossed yourself out?
  24. Holy shit, self hater oner.... Breaking it down, I think this battle comes down totally to personal preference... Spellbound, really nice execution, not the kinda of style I usually feel but you've nailed it... I don't really think I know the style enough to be able to make a real opinion, my personal feeling on this one is that it has a lot of random stuff that doesn't add to the letters, like the little blobs on the bottom of the L, D and G, and the blob that makes the middle bar of the E. The symmetry that you made with the ends is kinda thrown off by the connection from the top of the D to the G, and the arrow coming off the top of the G as well, but I dunno if that was intentional. Joker, even tho it feels weird criticising seeing as I usually jock your stuff like mad: if I've understood the letters correctly the G and E are hot, but the L is weak, it doesnt have the same confidence as the other letters. Also, right now you're rocking a style which I find uses the edges waaaay too much. I know you're all for minimalism, but the letters are becoming too thin, and the negative space you're making isn't all that interesting. As usual, I question whether you have a bionic hand because the smoothness of those lines is crazy (and I ask again if you have any tips to share on that), but that's for another time. To be honest, to compare the two pieces on skill is kinda crazy, they're totally different styles and approaches. I think you two should rematch and break it down into Handstyle/Throwie/Simple, just for the hell of it... And just cuz I want to see more sketches from the two of you! :D I honestly can't vote, good job both.
