so I never go to bullshit family get togethers the one time I say fuck and decide to rsvp to a wedding cro-mags decides to come to chicago for a free show. the free part is actually a bummer to me because that means you would need to get there extra early and then sit through a bunch of opening acts. from 4pm -7pm I don't think I can go to a wedding - skip the reception- then jet across town to get into a most likely packed venue. very split on this.

Troll hunter Norwegian film about a documentary crew that follows a troll hunter. Its kind of like national geographic meets hans christian anderson. norway itself is beautiful, i'm sure its also cold as shit in the wintertime. i'm not a fan of mockumentaries with the all hand held bs but they pulled it off with this one.

hey i wanted to let you guys know of a website called songkick.com it basically is a free account that you basically runs your itunes for band names if there are shows in your area it will automatically send you an email letting you location and time i have gone to shows i wouldnt normally have heard about because its not like i search the local newspaper weekly. just fyi

The Man of the Year Brazilian movie. a guy dyes his hair, gets made fun of and his life changes for the better/worse The Return of Chen Zhen Donnie yen is my favorite modern kung fu star. This is heavy on story, the action is awesome, could have been more of it but the I wasn't bored. Just don't go into this thinking non stop fighting. Mao's Last Dancer yes a movie about ballet. chinese guy gets picked out of a classroom of kid's to do ballet practices until he is awesome and then goes to the capitalist country of devil's and can't get enough of the white girls. chinese govt tries to get him back to china illegally i liked it The Man from Nowhere good korean flick, guy's only friend is a little girl that gets kidnapped to have her organs harvested dude goes and gets revenge. went a little long towards the end (as do most korean flicks) but they have been alot better than any other country's recent offerings i'll post more later

like that redscale qsysue yeah after not shooting in front of people (hardcore show pics) or in front of people in general i get a bit embarrassed of asking to shoot peoples portraits on the street i've missed a bunch of good ones too. i saw some mental lady peeking through a mini van window looking for some unknown stalker, light/reflection was perfect. i felt bad i have to get over that. I don't talk too much even at work so it makes it a bit difficult to approach people and take their picture. but subject matter is getting boring... oh yeah i found out why i was having problems with the polaroid its iso is 80 not 100 that i was metering for. duh..

I have the same problem with polaroids and I think they need to be one stop overexposed at least for the outdoor high-light situations

back in the day i used to be a waiter day shift at a high end restaurant and nights at a low end same level of service except at the high end i had runners deliver my food. i did nothing and pulled $100 a lunch for dinner i ran all my own food plus everyone elses and was lucky to pull $80-100 for almost 2x the hours. you know who really dont tip?... hungry christians after church sundays. especially during christmas fucking cheap jesus groping bastards. women no matter of looks always cleared $200 and sat around chit chatting, not taking care of customers and dropping their food constantly serving is definitely a female racket. men make shit. i tip 20% unless someone is just incompetent. if thats the case i give 10-15. giving below is just wrong. now where i go wrong is the bar scene. i feel like tipping on the whole experience not per drink but some places wont hold a tab. i dont want to tip each time that is bullshit. i want to tip at the end of the night and i'm more likely to give a better tip then i would if tipped $1 per drink. now ive gone to shitty bars where ive told the bartender can i run a tab and they said no so i said ill tip you at the end of the night. they didnt trust me so they cut me off early and bitch even pointed me out to other bar hands not to serve me. guess what i didnt tip at all then. but i avoid that and just buy high end beer from the liquor store and never go out to drink. oh well
