CALIgula
i still dont get it. if your odds are 1 in 176,000,000...then that means: 1/176,000,000 = 5.68 * 10^-7 percent chance of winning.. (0.000000568%) but if you buy 2 tickets, your odds are 2 in 176,000,000: 2/176,000,000 = 1.14 *10^-6 percent chance of winning.. (0.00000114%) thus every extra ticket you buy actually increases your chance of winning (granted, not by very much...actually by very very very very little) each time. you're approaching 1 (176,000,000/176,000,000) which is 100% chance of winning...which would be to play every single combination possible. are you saying you're odds dont change because the difference between playing 1 ticket or two is so miniscule?? because someone who plays 10,000 times has way better odds of hitting the jackpot than someone who plays 1 time. theprotester
I think the extra factor is that multiple tickets of the same number sequence can be printed?
CALIgula
^good point....that is what lowers the amount of jackpot...if 3 people all hit the jackpot with the same numbers, your odds arent ,lowered, just the amount of prize money you win. ie: splitting 300 million between 3 people.
