so i have this old pilot jumbo that i put marsh and garvey into after the regular ink dried up, and it worked pretty well for a while but i didn't use it for a couple weeks and now when i use it only the garvey shows up. Instead of having a violet undertone, its just straight up violet and the dark marsh (which i love) isn't going through the nib for some reason. any idea why that might be happening?

its just a regular pilot, no fancy modifications that change how it works too much. i even put a dab of marsh on the nib to see if i could get it flowing but after the marsh on the nib wiped off it went back to being just garvey. My theory is that the marsh is too thick and the nib has become too dense, but i could be wrong.

any help? props will be given

Your theory is most likely right. Because you didn't use it for a couple of weeks, and especially if you didn't store it straight up and down, the ink would have settled at the bottom of the marker, and the nib most likely dried up a little bit, causing a thick ink not to flow. And because marsh is a much thicker ink than garvey, you could have run into problems like you have now anyway.

If you really want to get the marsh to go through, I suggest two things:

1. Take a pin and poke holes in the top of the nib to increase flow.

2. Take the marsh, take the top of the marker off, and fill up the marker all the way to the top (so you can see the marsh sitting on top of the nib inside the marker). Once it soaks all the way into the nib, fill it all the way up again, and then wait a little. Then, put the top back on (make sure it's tight), and then instead of putting the cap back on, place the marker upside down into (preferably a container of pilot ink... it fits perfectly) some sort of container, and let it drain through the nib. Now you have a soaked marker that is completely filled, with no leaks! And hopefully you've got your nib flowing better too.
