AronOne
HEAVY METAL IN BAGHDAD is a feature film documentary that follows the Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to the present day. Playing heavy metal in a Muslim country has always been a difficult (if not impossible) proposition but after Saddam’s regime was toppled, there was a brief moment for the band in which real freedom seemed possible. That hope was quickly dashed as their country fell into a bloody insurgency. From 2003-2006, Iraq disintegrated around them while Acrassicauda struggled to stay together and stay alive, always refusing to let their heavy metal dreams die. Their story echoes the unspoken hopes of an entire generation of young Iraqis. watch here

AronOne
if Spinal Tap really existed it would be something like this; At 14, Toronto school friends Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner made a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, went on to become the "demigods of Canadian metal," releasing one of the heaviest albums in metal history, 1982's Metal on Metal. The album influenced a musical generation, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, that went on to sell millions of records. But Anvil's career took a different path - straight to obscurity. Picking up on their story 26 years later, director Sacha Gervasi has concocted an achingly touching and often hilarious account of Anvil's last-ditch quest for elusive fame and fortune. still pretty new so no direct stream links, but available on rapidshare part1 part2 part3 part4

Guest JohnLester#31
Just finished The Union. Amazing. Extremely informative. Everyone should watch it whether you're a supporter or not, its something to take heed to even as far as the way the system works and where U.S tax payers money goes, from this business alone. Call me naive.

STYLEISKING
Renowned director Emir Kusturica directs a celebration of the extraordinary history and phoenix-like resurrection of Diego Maradona: sporting hero, people’s champion, fallen idol and inspiration to millions. Enjoying unprecedented access to the man himself, as well as to extensive archives, Kusturica takes the audience on an intimate whirlwind tour of places and people closest to this god of football. From Argentina to Naples, from Cuba to Barcelona; from family and childhood friends to fellow players and world leaders (Fidel Castro), Maradona traces the great man’s incredible story, from the humblest of beginnings to world-domination; from spectacular, tragic fall to glorious rebirth. Profoundly moving, joyous and life-affirming, featuring an original score from Manu Chao, Maradona is both a unique documentation of a growing friendship between the director and his subject and a passionate exultation of a true legend of our times.

mosluggo
HBO to air documentary on ill-fated Collins-Resto fightHBO Sports will present "Assault In The Ring," a documentary about the ill-fated bout between welterweights Billy Collins Jr. and Luis Resto in 1983 at the Garden. It debuts Saturday, August 1, on HBO. “This film will revisit one of boxing’s saddest days,” said HBO's Rick Bernstein. “But it’s a compelling story that we feel needs to be told, because so many lives were changed forever on that night at Madison Square Garden. This is an in-depth, comprehensive examination of that tragic event.” On June 16, 1983, the undefeated Collins Jr. set out to fulfill every boxer’s dream of fighting in the world’s most famous arena – Madison Square Garden. Collins’ opponent, Luis Resto of the Bronx, had his own dream of rising to the occasion in front of hometown fans. But what began as a match that Nashville native Collins was favored to win changed both athletes’ lives – ending Collins’ career dreams and landing Resto in prison. Resto seemingly reached a fighter’s ultimate goal by upsetting Collins, but his post-fight victory celebration was short-lived when it was discovered that the padding had been illegally removed from Resto’s gloves by his trainer, Panama Lewis, before the fight. Resto was subsequently incarcerated and banned from the sport, while the brutally beaten Collins went into a tragic downward spiral. Shits on demand. FUCK PANAMA LEWIS!!!!Don King faggot
