Update: Watch still ticks, give it a week and it falls behind about 1min and a few seconds per week. So I guess it's calibrated on the slow slide. But not bad for a week. When the movement is dead, getting the thing timed, dated, phased, and such, is a task. A watch winder is definitely recommended for moon phase, multiple indications, or grand complication time pieces. The one quirk I have is the date year after year in February. So am a bit confused with the engineering of a mechanical. So when this watch comes to 2/28 12am, the date will advance to the 29th, but pulling the crown out to manually advance the date, it will not do it. The hand or indicey moves have way to 30 then stops! You cannot advance to March 1st manually. I thought the watch broke not knowing that the watch has to advance on its own to 30 then, only then the date can be adjusted to the 1st. I tried moving the clock hands thinking that would do it, but nope, that only advances the month. It's a quirky movement in my opinion. That's the only issue I had with it. With that being said, my question is, do all complications, grand complications like this act quirky at 2/28? Do the high end time pieces such as Patek do this too? 1
KILZ FILLZ
That’s very weird about the day function @ndvive never heard something like that.
KILZ FILLZ
Lately I’ve been infatuated with seiko monsters. I specifically really like this Dracula one where the indices look like fangs and they have a red outline as blood. The design of the monster line of watches is divisive. But I’ve really started to like it, leaning into Y2K aesthetic. Maybe I will get ones as a bday gift to myself. Or Xmas.
ndv
@KILZ FILLZ seikos are solid! Any seiko! Yeah, i founf that a bit odd myself, wjen i get a monent this week, i am goi g to reach out to Longines and ask about it. I also forgot to include the crown resistance when winding. It's tough, like as in the crown is small, winding feels rough on the thumb. Not buttery smooth like some other watches i had experiences with. I mean its not hard to wind, but it just enough to think a winding tool would be better. But that's about it.
