ok, so i picked up a dvd burner for my computer, but it was an ide burner and i have all sata connections. so rather than returning it, i picked up a ide-sata converter and plugged that into the burner, then into the motherboard.

only problem is, windows isnt recognizing my burner. though it does have power and the disc tray will open and shut when i push the button for it. any help?

also, i tried to access my bios to remove the hp splash screen at startup, but i dont have the bios password for the computer. is there any way around that?

sounds good (CALL them and tell them that you do not want an operating system on the computer or ask them to put on XP Pro)

Really? How do you activate that? And can you help me to unrar this bloody movie?

It was in 4 parts, with 24 or 25 files total. I usualy just go to the first one, then click through that till I get to the internal file or whatever it is, then it usually automatically links them and plays the movie. Why isn't it working this time? (using Winrar too)

umm..."psychic mode" in options or prefs somewhere.

with that movie...usually you can unrar the .rar or the .ra1 or whatever and it will

unrar the whole movie.

try it, right click and extract "here"
