"Please install Adobe Setup using Setup.exe" I bet I'm missing something real simple.

dwel
Hey fellas.. Just switched my desktop to windows 7 from xp pro and have a weird latency with my audio. This latency did not exist on XP, but with 7 it is there. I have been using just my motherboard soundcard (desktop for recording) with the 6 1/8" input jawns ... I have my dj mixer's output to the mic input on the soundcard and the speaker output to the sound system. I have downloaded all the updated realtek audio drivers, but still have this 1/4 second latency. I have also tried running my mixer's output to the line-in opposed to the mic and get no audio recognition. Any ideas?

Maybe a mid range soundblaster x-fi or something.
dwel
^ I had planned on that at some point soon, just weird because the onboard sound worked flawlessly before the OS switch

Any ideas? uncheck "allow exclusive access" in the sound properties Sound > Recording > [Recording Device Name (Microphone)] > Properties > Advanced > Exclusive Mode Although I'm not sure if changing that will solve it. To use the line-in input you'll need to make sure it's un-muted. If you set "Listen to this device" to checked in the properties for the Mic input you should be able to tell if its latency caused by the hardware or latency caused by recording software itself. I know the software play-through functionality in Audacity has a little bit of latency on it when playing something that is being recorded since it has to process and encode it before playing it again. iloveboxcars
Case - Minuet (although will be switching to this when i get not lazy: click here) Mothership - Asus M4A78L-M Chip - AMD Sempron 64 Bit AM2 3200 Ram - Kensington Hyper X DDR2 (x2, 2GB each) Monitor - 42" LG LH50 Blu-Ray Drive Asus SBC-04D1S-U Slim Drive. (This guy is originally an external drive but I just took off the case and slid it all nice and easy up in that bitch like a high class escort.) pictures of setup: http://i40.tinypic.com/2zhh01k.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2nw352p.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2rp9nqd.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/a5dr2c.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/syb91v.jpg Unfortunately I didn't realize how late it was and wasn't able to pick up the hdmi cable, so right now I'm running it through VGA. Are those pictures retarded big? I can't be sure on this massive screen. (this may sound somewhat like bragging, but I assure you it isn't) I previewed and decided to just leave them as links. I can shrink them down if they are all big and shit. sidenote: A friend of mine decided to out-do me, and since he has pretty much unlimited funds he did. He bought an LG 42" SL90 (model with more features than mine) 6 cards of DDR3 RAM (not really sure the motherboard, I'll ask him tomorrow) and one of those crazy looking radeon graphics cards... which from seeing pictures in magazines I had no idea was the size of a.. uh.. well I just didn't realize it was that fuckin big. for some reason I can't find a picture of it on the internecks. It was in last months (or the month before's) CPU. He's a dick.

ClueTwo
I just came up on a Apple G5 Dual Processor 2.0Ghz Power Mac..Unfortunately, it needs a hard drive and I'm not exactly sure what to do next. I've read online and I know it needs a Sata HD, and I'm gonna get one with as much capacity as possible. I found OSX Snow Leopard and it's only 29.99 from what I can tell. So... Does anyone know if the installation DVD is bootable? If not, how the hell do I install an OS on the new drive? Secondly, it's got an Invidia dual output video card and one conector is DVI and the other looks like a DVI, but is this Apple's proprietary connector for their monitors or just one I've never seen before? I've read that most USB keyboard and mice work fine too, but what's the general way most users connect their peripherals? I know Macs big on "wireless", so is there a wireless keyboard and mouse that I can buy from Apple that would just work without loading drivers? I've got pictures if anyone's interested, but I'm fucking stoked about this machine. I hope it works like I think it will..
HydrogenPeroxide
Clue, once you get a new hard drive installed just put the disc in and it will install Snow Leopard on it no problem. And yeah, apple has wireless keyboards and mice that connect vie bluetooth. If you don't want to use apple products, any other wireless bluetooth stuff will work just as easily. LastBoyScout
Thats not true snow leopard is for intel macs only you'll need to find a copy of leopard to instal on it
