I like dazes contributions to most of paper chase but when you take a char. from a straight reference it would do you good to give a nod to that, instead of passing it as your own,

if your learning or doing "fanart" cool, but let people know the source cause quite frankly anyone with a pencil can trace an allready existing character, or duplicate one.

super-ill.

i like your other cartoony chars. but i like that girl (sitting one)most, shes got a nice expression on her. keep it up! do you use photo reference for poses or just give it a go from your head?

not too mention the pimp on the bottom reminds me of sammy davis jr.!

Ill have to side with Daze on this one. I knew where that character was from as soon as i saw the head. I think daze might have forgotten because i dont think daze would bite something on that level of popularity.

soooo? your saying he drew that pose, expression, features, outfits accesories to the exact likeness by accident?

as i said i like what daze puts forth into the forum, but that was blatant, maybe he forgot to give credit, as anyone should who "borrows" anything from an existing drawing.

Tracing isn't a bad way to learning line structure just as long as after you trace something a handful of times you make attempts at recreating the work on your own. When I first got into drawing years ago I found this to be a very profitable way to get my feet off the ground as well as helping me understand how one line smoothly flowed to the next. I'm not saying this applies to any work that has been posted here but I wanted to drop my two cents on the benifits of tracing as a learning tool.

well said, a professor up here taught me a method also that involved tracing out of a real reputable anatomy book, on tracing paper get the head and neck, from there draw the body (from the photo ref.) then reallign the paper to the picture and see where you skewed the body, and eventually after drawing your ass off your pictures start to basically line up almost exact, it was just a method of practicing, and a way to do studies for anatomy.
