Hm interesting I’ve been seeing the Qanon stuff for a bit but haven’t dug into it at all two of the IG pages I follow have pretty much completely pivoted to Qanon BS and before I unfollowed I saw a couple of the posts looks like 4chan green text haiku poem shit that I couldn’t make heads nor tails out of did a quick google on it any didn’t really see anything of substance so made this thread what a truest bizarre year.
  3. @Dirty_habiTdamn that lighter is pretty slick, never heard of those. Yeah the thunderbird is a drop in full on replacement. Some folk use them as an upgrade as e for lighting their cigars because the zippo fuel corrupts the falcon of their cigars. Others prefer the butane because it doesn’t evaporate in a few days time like the zippo fuel does. I wanted the upgrade to use the zippo as a camp lighter. I trust the butane to light something in heavy wind. I was looking at getting one of these for the novelty : austrian made ww2 era IMCO 6700. Can break down similar to zippo but use the center as a candle. Super cool but discontinued and market is saturated with Chinese replicas. I think they look super cool but wouldn’t really have a use for it other than another Tchotchke to collect dust
  4. Was speaking with a boomer coworker day before last who is lapping this shit up totally convinced mail in voting will be the end of democracy I brought up the Diebold voting machine scandal in Florida from the Gore/Bush election and he quieted down
  5. @Dirty_habiThow long has this been going on, and have any of the leaks been accurate? Or are they so cryptic there’s no way to say whether they are accurate or not? whats the mission statement of Qanon, like what is the goal with these things, and why have the Trump base attached themselves to it so strongly?
  6. Might be a chick these weird handle ladder things would rip out from the body weight of a man, id think interesting rig the wooden window frame is an odd touch

  9. Came across this, may be a good framework to modify to fit our needs : What is Neutral Politics? Neutral Politics is a community dedicated to evenhanded, empirical discussion of political issues. It is a space to discuss policy and the tone of political debate. Is this a subreddit for people who are politically neutral? No - in fact we welcome and encourage any viewpoint to engage in discussion. The idea behind r/NeutralPolitics is to set up a neutral space where those of differing opinions can come together and rationally lay out their respective arguments. We are neutral in that no political opinion is favored here - only facts and logic. Neutral Politics is strictly moderated. Our full guidelines are here. Comment Rules We expect the following from all users: 1) Be courteous. Demeaning language, sarcasm, rudeness or hostility towards another user will get your comment removed. Repeated violations may result in a ban. 2) Source your facts. If you're claiming something to be true, you need to back it up by linking to a qualified source. There is no "common knowledge" exception, and anecdotal evidence is not allowed. 3) Be substantive. NeutralPolitics is a serious discussion-based subreddit. We do not allow bare expressions of opinion, low effort one-liner comments, jokes, memes, off topic replies, or pejorative name calling. 4) Address the arguments, not the person. The subject of your sentence should be "the evidence" or "this source" or some other noun directly related to the topic of conversation. "You" statements are suspect. Submission Rules All posts are reviewed by the moderators for compliance with these rules prior to appearing online: A) Ask a specific political question. We do not allow overly broad questions, solicitations of pure opinion, surveys, requests to explain public opinion or media coverage, posts about other subreddits, or meta posts. B) Frame it in a neutral way. The post must not be inflammatory, editorialized, leading towards a particular answer, a statement of opinion, or a request to critique your theory. C) Outline the issue well. Give more than just a headline. Provide some background information. D) Provide sources. Statements of fact must cite qualified sources. Nothing is "common knowledge." Submissions that do not include sources will be rejected. (Sole exception: if you cannot find specific information after a thorough online search, you may post a request for sources.) E) Propose a good starting point for discussion. The purpose of this forum is to discuss issues. We do not allow polls, surveys or requests for fact checking. F) Title the post accurately. The title must match the contents. G) No requests for speculation. If the question cannot be answered with facts — which includes any that are phrased in the future tense (What will/would/could happen?) — then it's not appropriate for NeutralPolitics.
  10. Source: https://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/08/12/conspiracy-steal-election-folks-alarms-sound-after-postal-worker-reports-removal wiki on source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Dreams Published on: Wednesday, August 12, 2020 by: Common Dreams 'A Conspiracy to Steal the Election, Folks': Alarms Sound After Postal Worker Reports Removal of Sorting Machines The removal of key equipment from Post Offices should be viewed as nothing less than "sabotage," said one observer. by: Jake Johnson, staff writer The head of the Iowa Postal Workers Union alleged Tuesday that mail sorting machines are "being removed" from Post Offices in her state due to new policies imposed by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a major GOP donor to President Donald Trump whose operational changes have resulted in dramatic mail slowdowns across the nation. Asked by NPR's Noel King whether she has felt the impact of DeJoy's changes, Iowa Postal Workers Union President Kimberly Karol—a 30-year Postal Service veteran—answered in the affirmative, saying "mail is beginning to pile up in our offices, and we're seeing equipment being removed." *** "I don't see this as cost-saving measures. I see this as a way to undermine the public confidence in the mail service." —Kimberly Karol, Iowa Postal Workers Union *** Karol went on to specify that "equipment that we use to process mail for delivery"—including sorting machines—is being removed from Postal Service facilities in Iowa as DeJoy rushes ahead with policies that, according to critics, are sabotaging the Postal Service's day-to-day operations less than 90 days before an election that could hinge on mail-in ballots. "In Iowa, we are losing machines. And they already in Waterloo were losing one of those machines. So that also hinders our ability to process mail in the way that we had in the past," added Karol, who said she is "not a fan" of the postmaster general. Washington state election officials have also raised concernsabout the removal of mail sorting machines. "I grew up in a culture of service, where every piece was to be delivered every day. And his policies, although they've only been in place for a few weeks, are now affecting the way that we do business and not allowing us to deliver every piece every day, as we've done in the past," said Karol. "I don't see this as cost-saving measures. I see this as a way to undermine the public confidence in the mail service. It's not saving costs. We're spending more time trying to implement these policy changes. And it's, in our offices, costing more over time." Observers reacted with alarm to Karol's comments, viewing them as further confirmation that DeJoy is deliberately attempting to damage the Postal Service with the goal of helping Trump win reelection in November. "It's a conspiracy to steal the election, folks," tweeted The Week's political columnist Ryan Cooper. Freelance journalist Erin Biba said there's "absolutely no way to see" the removal of mail sorting machines from Post Offices as anything other than "sabotage" of the most popular government institution in the U.S. "It's so blatant," added Biba. Karol's remarks come as members of Congressand hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans are demanding DeJoy's immediate resignation or removal in the wake of his displacement of nearly two dozen top Postal Service officials late last week—a major leadership overhaul that critics dubbed a "Friday Night Massacre." According to internal Postal Service memos obtained by Reuters, DeJoy—a former logistics executive with tens of millions invested in USPS competitors—was aware his operational changes would lead to mail delays. *** As Reuter's reported: The reorganization, introduced in July, has resulted in thousands of delayed letters in southern Maine, as delivery drivers follow a new directive to leave on time, even if the mail has not been loaded. *** Delays have also been reported in at least 18 other states, according to media reports. "One aspect of these changes that may be difficult for employees is that—temporarily—we may see mail left behind or mail on the workroom floor or docks," says one memo, dated July 10. The plan hopes to eliminate 64 million working hours nationally to reduce personnel costs, according to another memo. In a statement over the weekend, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) warned that Dejoy's "nefarious collective efforts will suppress millions of mail-in ballots and threaten the voting rights of millions of Americans, setting the stage for breach of our Constitution." "It is imperative that we remove him from his post," said DeFazio, "and immediately replace him with an experienced leader who is committed to sustaining a critical service for all Americans."
