BBC just said the guy had nothing to do with any bombings. there was also a guy from scotland yard telling everyone that cops don't have any temporary special rights to fire ppl at will. anyway, the guy escaped... that's dumb. however the cops were in plainclothes, AND they tackled him first, then shot him 5 times point blank. this is what I collected. correct me if I'm wrong. the S.Y. big shot also said that plainclothes cops should always have a baseball cap or some kind of an armband that says "police" and that usually plainclothes officers dont pack heat. if they do, their rules of engagement are more strict than officers in uniforms. something like that? even if the guy knew they were cops, he could've just as well be a robber, a drug dealer, a writer or an asian guy who doesnt read/speak english in panic situations. whatever, in the media it's being scooped as a major police fuck up at the moment

i just saw this steven soderberg sci-fi flick SOLARIS... with george clooney. it was pretty good, and got me thinking how most of the hollywood shit sucks. Brian Callison - The Flock of Ships. Just found this book from a bunch of useless junk. it's really short and nothing very special but it caught my attention. Fictional navy warfare from WW2. It's basically a log by an english officer from a "commercial" ship with a royal navy escort, shipping some secret shit to south africa. I liked the black sense of humor in this book and also the realistic descriptions of naval phenomenon and death etc... But if anyone can suggest any other books of ocean warfare, or any good war books in general, I'd like to hear them. That "Sorrow of war" is next on my list of books worth to check out... an example of really bad war books would be this vietnam farce "LBJ company" or something. a war book for girls and hippies. They just run around jungle shooting without a reason. You've got about dozen movies about the same subject. A book for the youth at that time... If it was written in 1940s it would've been pro-stalin & eisenhower. I like my war books from the human experience-point of view, leave the politics and fashion out of it! [/rant]
