those little bits ur adding to your letters are really more detrimental than aesthetic to your peice..another thing to look out for is the letter widths are different in each letter..ie the Z's mad wide compared to the rest of the letters..graffitis all about consistency..and following a pattern.i like to think of it is as creating a 'font'...and fonts all share rules ...
