  1. Took me a few years to learn this. And all those e2es and wholecars are vulnerable on doored cars. I've had one e2e interrupted already by a new door.

    Cartoon Riot.

I don't have all day to shoot holes in this guy's swollen blimp of hypocrisy, but I'll take a couple of the most obvious shots: 1. If Muhammad is such a pacifist who didn't build any sword factories, why do his defenders call for the death of the cartoonists by beheading? You need two things to chop off somebody's head: a sword, and a disregard for the words of prophets preaching nonviolence. This is maximum hypocrisy. 2. Since when does Islam give a fuck about women's values? Forcing women to hide their faces and bodies from the light of day is "something that causes loss of concern for women's values". Again, maximum hypocrisy. 3. Dude has some misconceptions about how protective we "westerners" are about our women. If somebody rapes my wife, sister, or daughter, I'll blow their fucking brains out. I could go on all day with Islamic law's self-serving inconsistencies, but instead I'll address a different point. Dawood is mostly correct when he compares insulting the prophet Mohammad to jumping off a cliff: you know you'll get hurt, so don't do it. The trouble is, when rational people are confronted with this kind of extremist threat, they understand that they have no choice but to defend themselves with violence. I have long been a tolerant atheist, meaning that I believe in freedom of religion so long as those freedoms do not interfere with my right to believe in no religion. I'm willing to live in a country where people have different customs for themselves. When those customs threaten me, I will take up arms and defend myself. Crowds of violent protesters of cartoons, demanding the deaths of nonbelievers, force me to dismiss them as ignorant barbarians. If you spit on my tolerance, then fuck yourself, it's war.
  3. It's just a dude with a laser pointer who follows you around when you take flicks.
  4. It's PGR...and you shoulda seen the other side of that one.
  5. wow, thanks for circling this, i never wouldve seen it without you! ;) Quoted post hey no problem, i did it especially for all the speds in the house. Quoted post [/b] He's referring to the fact that if you look at the photo upside down, the chunk of roof in the background seems to fit right in to the 3D on the letters.
  6. It looks good to me. There's always going to be some grousing about who else should have been in instead of so-and-so, but an honest effort was made to include every important player, and I think they succeeded in particular with the early generations of aerosol, including some obscure folks who deserved it. Some omissions were also at the request (or disdain) of potential includees, despite being invited. Roger's rep on the $$ tip will no doubt prejudice some folks against this right away. But from what I've seen this is a serious effort to be comprehensive, not some fast-buck bullshit.
  7. I didn't know Paul Klee did freights.
  8. Corporate fines are mind-boggling. DuPont made how much selling Teflon products? Billions? And the fine comes to $16 million or so? The best one, I forgot the details, but basically a phone company "crammed" a fake charge onto everyone's bill. Those who noticed and complained got it refunded. Most customers just paid the bill with the fake charge. The phone company scammed a lot off of that one, and was caught. But the fine came to less than they scammed. "Hey, you stole millions from your customers...your punishment is, you have to pay SOME of it back." How is that a deterrent?
  9. Low buff rate = long run times. Just saw a 6 year old e2e by me & some friends pop up. Don't sleep on the lowly gondola.
  10. Neither sticky, nor dog...let it ride. :snowman:
  11. This forum isn't super busy so any thread about metal things with wheels that people might want to paint is fair game - trucks, buses, trains, etc.
  12. Although some "themed" burners might be funny, like a BE COOL, STAY IN SCHOOL e2e.
  13. I was gonna make a joke about "corn maze" but I guess it's pretty obvious.
  14. The unfinished Kwest takes it.
  15. Swiped from another thread
  16. Stolen from the Kem5 thread
  17. Somebody, probably you, asked this question two years ago, when the wholecar pictured above was his only wholecar. So if that's not it, then your dirt mounds were somebody else. His other two wholecars don't have dirt mounds either.

ODS - I stay in the habit of not stepping in track switches no matter what - great place to trip or fuck up your ankle - but what your friend said is mostly true. You can get your foot severed (or stuck, and then the train finishes the job) in AUTOMATED switches, which are usually only on busy lines or in or just outside of yards. They are remotely operated by a dispatcher or other play-caller. Switches out in the boonies are not automated, they have to be thrown by hand. Smaller railroad yards can even be all manual. You'd have to be real slow, dumb, and unlucky to get your foot squashed in a manual switch, what with the worker right there and all. He might even just tell you to move instead of crushing your foot.
  19. I don't really enjoy porn movies. The girls look all used up and overplay the faked pleasure. It's about as fun as watching dogs fucking, and I don't like dogs. It's not really porn but the first thing I saw along those lines was "Bloodsucking Freaks", at maybe 17.
  20. shit. fuck. I missed out. I would have liked to do this. Maybe next time. Interested in seeing the results.

Pinging tankers are letting off small pressure increases. They have something called a pressure release device which blows off a little steam when pressure rises in the tanker. (Just air comes out, not any dangerous chemicals.) Tankers often heat up in the sun (especially black ones - ever wear all black on a hot day?), slightly raising the internal pressure, which is taken care of by those short, pinging releases of air. I was startled the first time it happened to me, by a line way out in the boonies with nobody around. That used to be a nice spot.
