ive heard good things about china. alot of people i know that lived in japan but got fed up and went to china say that they are much happier. the chinese appreciate talent alot more and are willing to pay for it. (which isnt much in US $ but alot in china standards) the japanese tend to look at foreignors and think only english teacher where as in china you can get a job in your studied field. you can also make longlasting friends there, here tokenism is a bitch. good luck with that.

yeah i wish. I miss speaking english to a native speaker. theres a timeline in japan but it could apply to any country with a different culture. 1day-1year complete bliss, you dont understand a word of japanese, you say hell why didnt i move here sooner, the japanese are god, you go back to your native land and spread the disinformation on just how great it is when really you dont know shit. (japanophiles) 1 year-3 years you begin to wake up a bit, you can have a short conversation in japanese so daily stuff gets easier but your personal life gets difficult, japanese people begin to get difficult 3years-8 years you are aware of how annoying and backwards these people are, you can hold your own in group conversations, you now understand all the shit they have been talking about you this whole time, life in japan is now normal but its now you versus them, the country is great but japanese people can go to hell 8years-10 years you now dont care how annoying they are and in fact youve joined in on the bad habits, you now speak the language better than they can, you now either love japan 51% and hate it 49% or vice versa, so you either put up with the bullshit and try not to kill anyone or you hate it and take the next plane out while missing that 49% that you loved im going 7 years. it is what it is. i try not to let my 51% turn to hate.

btw there is alot of unemployment in japan. homeless people like mad in the parks. i understand your feelings on being dissillusioned with western life but if you truly knew what japanese culture really is and not the over romanticized western version, youd start to love that american culture all the more. americans pay their artists better than japan my friend. we have labor laws, unions and a life. japan doesnt. i drew anime 7days a week for $1.50 a hour so basically im the mexican pickin the strawberries out here.

On April 16, a 79-year-old woman died after being bitten by a Tosa on a street in Kumamoto.
