Yeah. That's all good info. I'm really trying to speed up my rooting. On this last tray of 20 I had 3 or 4 that showed roots in about 8 days. I was stupid excited about that. Then it was a crap shoot from 10-21 days waiting on the rest of them to root. I'm also trying to figure out why some cuts rooted in 8 days versus 3 weeks.

Holy shit @SMdoubleXL I'm saving those pics for my records. I had been looking high and low on the Google image search for a detailed description on best practice for taking clones. It doesn't exist. I recently had 4 or 5 clones didn't make it. I think I tried to do stem cuts. Something else I do a little differently is at the base of the cutting, after doing a 45° cut I use my scalpel to shave off the outer skin. That seems to work pretty well. But it looks like you are saying is all you need to do is cut a wound into the base of the cutting?
