Some women/girls can't really afford to travel out of state, and will be forced to give birth. Often times through no fault of their own because of nonconsensual sex. Others will take measures into their own hands, and be tried and convicted of murder thus, increasing incarceration rates. This will in effect be a much worse fate for those living in religious majority shithole states, especially when these unwanted, and quite frankly impossible to raise properly children reach their teenage years.

A lot of libertarian types are saying vote with your feet, but that's kind of a foolish, and completely unrealistic take. If the girls, and women that actually get abortions had the time preference required to pick up and move to another state preemptively, they obviously wouldn't need abortions in the first place. This hot take is as unproductive, and foolish of a take as telling someone to "just don't be poor" or "everyone should just follow their dreams". Christianity, and other right wing foolishness like pro-war nationalism, victimless crime enforcement is often times intertwined with Libertarianism because idiots on the right can't admit to themselves they are not pro-freedom at all.

I myself struggle with the States rights angle here. Like I'm obviously very pro choice, but I'm also very anti centralization, and want to see legal, economic, and cultural fragmentation to allow for progress, instead of a one size fits all stagnation. So if a rule put in place by the Federal government is removed, it's one step closer towards this goal. It still doesn't sit right with me, because both of these values are at conflict here. Luckily, as a Voluntaryist, my highest value explains this internal conflict of values that I hold. Every human being by default has absolute ownership over their body, and all matters concerning every living cell in their body require their consent, and nothing more. Even when the decision one person makes concerning their own body, may harm, or even end the life of another, their cooncent is still required. Life just isn't my highest value.

They would probably just call in the schools resource officer to disappear your ass. The lefty left is weird like that. You can agree 95% with some one but they'll turn on you over that 5%.

I was just talking about this this morning in a similar fashion.

Basically what I was saying, " I find it funny,  the republican party is all about pro-choice when it came to vaxxcinate or not.  My body, My choice.  But they sure did dance monkey dance 💃  when the roe was over turned and they are all, your body, my choice. "

I think the right is just so hyped up on the own the libtards train right now, they don't even realize they are setting up a bizzaro fascist country. And because the right runs on a conglomerated platform of Jesus, Guns, Economy, and babies where all issues hold equal weight, it's easy for the right to say "yep, those are all the things that matter to me," the Dems are powerless to stop it. Because there is no all encompassing ProHomo™, clean energy, workers rights, gun responsibility platform where all issues hold equal weight, Dems are left playing the guessing game of who they think will win, or if their candidate doesn't get the nomination, they get spiteful and buck the party totally out of self righteousness essentially hurting themselves in the long run.

@Mercerwith you on this. there is a shaky at best states rights angle — especially since the dozens of trigger laws were already in effect by states where the GOP has control of the senate, house, and governors office. it is not a popular referendum if it's handed down by an unelected body of lifetime appointees and enforced by one-party state governments. it's clearly about ending abortion rights — which are human rights, by my belief, and supersede any theocratic agenda.

to me the interesting part of this is that they handed down something that's so plainly unpopular. remember, all of the new judges on the supreme court said they'd uphold roe in their confirmation hearings. the right will need a big tent to keep up the anti-abortion thing and i don't know if they have it. i didn't expect the dave portnoy video response, for example, and portnoy was a big trump guy.

they probably dropped this decision now because they saw that democrats were too shook to actually make roe a law. i think dropping it in this election year was well planned. a more popular democratic incumbent could run against it. biden is radioactive, approval wise, and didn't say or do shit for abortion before so he can't credibly defend it now.

I don't know that the Republicans need that big tent. The opinions that the court have been dropping here over the past few months seem to have one end goal in mind and that's to put more poor (ethnic) people in jail with no hope of escaping even if new evidence could possibly exonerate them.

I know this gets a little bit away from strictly the Roe opinion but in the scheme of things, I don't think it's the most important thing they have been up to.

So I see a shift in politics leaning towards Christian Fundementalism. Some of these views seem far fetched by any normal human beings reasoning but it's like they are putting guys like this out into the wild to test the temperature of the greater mass of the GOP. It's also not a mistake that he's black which is outrageous in and of itself but the language he uses is also very carefully selected to conflate homosexuality with terrorism and treason.

Now, I'm not reactionary in the sense where I'm sitting around biting my nails like 'oh no. I hope this guy doesn't get elected," but I am interested to see how this litmus test of a politician gets reworked into something more palatable for the greater American public to digest. Circling back to my main point; the Democratic party can't come to terms on what the party stands for. As long as their core values are divided into all or nothing issues, they are powerless to stop any of this.

I'm just here thinking how can I profit from this. I'm thinking about hiring a doctor, and trappin out of a Whinnebago in one of those inbred southern states. $500 a pop cash or crypto, $750 for twins, or you can pay child support for 18 years bruh. Your choice.

yup. they were totally wrong about it but don't care — it didn't fit their agenda. now they're making her a target so that one of these "pro life" people can commit a terrorist attack, as they have before.

It's never been about life. There is a bill going through NC right now that will allow people to murder a woman that is attempting to get an abortion. To "save" the babiez. Right? I can only imagine that this is some kind of troll bill proposed by some lunatic, but that begs the question that some one in their local government has to endorse this for it to get to the voting floor.
