Same shit happened to this super rich Korean chick I know from college. About three years ago she got straight t boned by a cop running a red light with no sirens on, her car was totaled and she wound up in the hospital. Witnesses at the scene said the cop was in the wrong, but they still cited her with failure to yeild to an emergency vehicle. She took it to court with a lawyer, but all the officer had to do was claim he was responding to a call and about to turn his lights on, and it was upheld. Aparantly the law states as long as the officer is responding to a call it's his right of way even with no warning lights - those are just a courtesy. The metro police insurance refused to pay and she was stuck holding the bill I'm pretty sure they rule this way because they just don't want to pay out when this happens Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
