asdf_va!
I won't have a problem with getting a utensil once there, so I am just not going to bring one. I think I will resort to stickers for the Gestapo Check Points of Death and will totally bring my trusty white out pen, and just tell them that I do crosswords with an ink pen, but that I am not very good at crosswords. If paint is not allowed, there is NO WAY that a mop with industrial ink is going to get through anything. I will keep my reserve, and just go lite. I need a bag that I can lock so I can check it. asdf_va!
^^Good call. I know if I brought a mini with paint, I would most likely be ok... But the DED might just get smelled, if not noticed. Thanks for the responses!
Bruce_1nR
Hmm, looking at Oink's website...hes got some new OTRs in... Having never used OTRs before, (but im deadset on getting one) I'm torn between: -The smaller flowpen -The pocket "Hard to Buff" Anyone used them before? I like the sound of the flowpen...but, I'm waiting for your responses.
asdf_va!
It's called a flow pen, but don't expect "drippy mop." They do flow, but only in the way it lays down the ink. Nice solid lines with little streaking. You can get drips with them, but nothing excessive. The pockets are just a paint combo. Same deal... no drips if thats what you are expecting. But there are plenty of options for drips if you want them(they seem to be the new trendy mark). Looks good too, but there are millions of great tags that have no drips at all. So in the arena of styling, both those markers will work just fine. I would say go with the flow pen. Anyone else...?
androidx
i would go with the paint, otr ink is terrible.
eastcoastghost
New color ink for the K-71 "Bleed Through Blue" I wish he sold this color, along with the violet, by the bottle.
asdf_va!
^^I wonder if that has the chemical that makes the paint hard to cover? There is an industrial marker that, when painted over, stains up into the paint covering it and you can still see it. It's called a Bleed Through pen as well I think. Damn KR... Straight Beast material.
androidx
Bump that.
slipone
haha dam asdf_va! beat me to the question. i was about to ask the same question cuz ima be traveling to the islands this summer and i plan to also write my name when i get around. Im thinking of just bringing my Mini flowpen so if i MUST throw it away i wont really trip about it. But hopefully i wont have to throw it away. maybe they will just mail it back to my house and hopefully when i get backhome the marker will be there. projetmayhem
can i use peice of sponge for a nib in a homemade marker?
westce
can i use peice of sponge for a nib in a homemade marker? get a chalkboard eraser..it works good/
androidx
Yes, you can. But for me, sponges have always tended to leave unwanted streaks. Use some felt from a chalkboard eraser. Works much better.
Skag
Hey Junobo I gotta quick question about those new markers you got, could you post a pic of them in comparison to something, because I'm not sure of the actual size of the pen. I like my mops to be small, so when pulled up by police (in my area they pull up anyone walking round' at night if they believe them to be looking "suspicious" and they often search even though legally they aren't supposed to) I can quickly shove it down in the ol' pupe pouch (down my pants). Would you say they're about the same size as those squeezy markers that used to be on bombing science?
2006-1984
yeah it doesn't make sense to me the way so many new krink colors are available but only in the broad lines or the new squeeze mops, but either way, dope shit. Where can you get the new colors?
eastcoastghost
The only place I know of that carries the new Krink products right now is Turntablelab.com But I'm sure Alife has them too.
M_I
ASDF_VA----- forget the mop, it will fuck you over. Markers on the other hand should be okay. I got a couple decos with me flying into boston; kept it in my luggage, NOT carry on; keep it in a ziplock bag should it uncap and spill on your shit.... have a safe trip.....
sk8er6
how are yall getting otr's tto drip? i have a markal (same shit) and a .160, and if i pump it a lot, i get no drips, and an assload of paint in the cap the next time i open it that spills all over my fucking hands.
androidx
You can stick a needle through the nib and make a few holes. *That's what I've heard*, not sure if that will work, though.
Yuki Nagato
Push down when you're writing and go slow. That's the only way you'll get them to drip. because OTR's are flow pens if you're no pushing down the valve isn't open. SO pump it like a motherfucker tills it's nice and juice then when you want srips jsut push down and go slow in what ever spot you want drips in. it's much easier to just get a squeezeable mop instead if you want drips. And use The Otr for nice clean tags
sk8er6
yeah, im prolly not gonna buy an otr for a while... im stocked up on glue markers. ;)
