a good flush always helps. but i think it's me not remembering my password...although' date=' i was sure....[/quote']

sticky on monitor

sticky on bottom of keyboard

paper in drawer

paper in yer wallet

or a notepad document right on the desktop holding all the passwords

it really amazes me sometimes ( not really) people are really this stupid,

but try keeping track of over 1000 different passwords its great fun

I had to mess around with the CMOS on my comp to get my CDROM to work right last night.

The piece of shit just did not want to read my install disk...but I bent it to my will.

for some reason aim doesn't like me.

what kind of dvd writer is it? any brand names?

just generic? go into control panel, system, hardware,

device manager

any exclammation marks or yellow caution signs?

you'llsee "dvd/cd roms" you can right click on it and "update driver" from the internet or choose a location to install from. let windows do its thing and update from windows website. see what it says. perhaps it can find the correct driver.

tried that, but it doesnt even appear under device manager...its like cd/dvd drives got completely whiped. As far as brands for the drive, its the generic one that came with the computer..i dunno who makes the drives for fujitsu siemens. This is fucked.

I'm not really familiar with the internals of a laptop, but if there's a way to check and make sure that everything is properly plugged in, then you should do that. You could reinstall Windows, which would be a bitch, but might fix a hardware issue like that as long as everything is plugged in/not broken.
