seeking Posted November 28, 2005 Share Posted November 28, 2005 you can't really crusade for someone you dont even know on a message board, while simultaniously telling us we're taking ourselves too seriously. it's like saying 'quit being racist you nigger'. the bigger deal you make, the bigger deal we'll be forced to respond to, thus the more drastic action we'll be required to take. ultimately, we are the ones with the 'power' here (no matter how trivial it might be), not you. you can try to make a scene and whine if you'd like, but that's the absolute extent of it. this is not a democracy. that isn't said as some sort of threat, it's said simply as fact and you all know it. i had nothing to do with deto being banned. the bitching and complaining had already begun before i'd even found out about it. it wouldn't have been the choice i'd have made, but i can't say i give a shit one way or another. at the most it means i have to close a thread or two, big deal. sure, i banned casek, but that was initially as a joke, because he invited me too, claiming he didn't care. of course not even 12 hours passed before he was spamming the entire forum with multiple names and gay porn fantasies. at that point it went from a joke (one i'd perhaps taken too far), into him just completely losing his fucking marbles (and any chance of being allowed back on). really, other than perhaps some computer advice, he is no loss at all. dude was pathetic and proved it beyond anything i could say with his somphoric attempts to get back at 'me' (keep in mind he's nearly 30). i really don't care if you guys support 12oz or not. if you want to think that raven is shelling out over 40 grand a year, out of his own pocket, because he needs your miniscule aliegance, you're all grossly inflating your own worth. 12oz is indeed a brand, one that since it's inception has defined the entire genre, but it is not, nor has it ever been, dependent on a bunch of kids in channel zero who live their lives on the internet. 12oz has always been about graffiti and will always be about graffiti. it's not about channel zero, where you all spend your time, i's about the photo threads. this site was getting over 10 million page views a month 2 years ago. since then we have no way of knowing what we're at, as no counter raven can find is capable of calculating where we're currently at. if you really think that deto, or any of you is the straw that will break our backs, your mad. 80% of the people who frequent this site never set foot in channel zero. in the big thread that 181 started, everyone, tesseract included, said that deto was welcome to make a new name and come back, provided he toned down his schtict and quit hating. apparently that was not enough for deto, and not enough for you guys. you all have to make a big ass scene, which as i said, requires we make a big scene in response. in the end, it's a battle you can't win, and one that needent have been fought in the first place. but i suppose teen angst needs an outlet, right? as a final word on it, again, i don't give a shit about this, so don't think that you can talk a bunch of shit to me and get me all riled up, it's not gonna work. tell me i'm gay, tell me i'm power tripping, blah, blah, i don't care. i have a life, and a girl, and i paint plenty, equal, if not more than any of you. your words on this screen are just words on a screen to me. thank you and goodnight. I pmed him about his signature being so long and that i edited it down. i even offered to work out this deto problem with him, even though deto hasnt tried contacting me or raven to my knowledge. I had an open ear to work out a resolution. he responded. before i could speak with any of the mods about it, he went and posted the same post in about 12-15 threads. shortly after that i banned him. flaming up the threads is a banable offense. i offered a helping hand and then he went out of his way to be a fucking prick. so theres your reason. I wish things could have been handled better, and that shit never got to this point. I like channel zero and this site in general but you can't claim to foster a community on one hand and discount them and their opinions in the same breath. whatever, I'll keep posting if it's interesting, I just can't waste my time with BS.
