effyoo
Jeopardy Update! Uber-nerd Ken Jennings pulled out a close one today. With only one and a half categories to go he got the daily double and lost $4000, bringing his closest opponent within striking distance. the last category was a struggle, with good ol' Kenny J. getting the $2000 last question right to seal the win. he only won $17000 today. he's slippin i tell ya... effyoo
i know, i know. i figured you'd chime in. you see my point though, milton. nerd boy has been collecting experience in the form of random knowledge all his life, too. actually, now that i know you're listening or whatever, here's something that i've been wondering... internet vs. casino poker? seems like internet is easier due to the non-human element. true? Milton
Sorry, scratch that. Online play vs. casino play: It all really depends on the level you're playing at. As far as online goes for the same limits, the competition is superior to what you find in a cardroom. This is because there are such low limits people who suck can stay there and don't play the real games. I usually crush 3-6 and 4-8 dollar games on any given night and can play competitively in as high as 15-30 games. However, online I'd be hardpressed to play anythign higher than 2-4 on a regular basis due to the simple superiority of the competition. These guys know the odds, and know them well, they don't bullshit and they're good players, not necessarily the trickiest or most inventive, but as far as by the book play is concerned these guys are tops. Casino play is more about player knowledge, like I said in that bullshit up there. Reads are huge, especially at higher limits. And you play longer sessions. Online you can play about twice as many hands per table per hour, and I know people that play 5 tables at once. (Nuts!) Thats limit, no limit is a whole other headache...
