The costume turned out simply bad ass. A couple of my friends also went as Ponch (sp?) and John from CHIPs. They pieced the costumes together from old patrol uniforms from all over the country. I lucked out seriously with the duffman costume. My last big hurdle was to make a 'fly' so I can piss without taking off the suit. The girl I've started seing a a serious fashionista and she's going to put a velcro fly in the suit for me. Otherwise I'd just have a rip in the fabric and a strip of duct tape to keep it from getting any bigger.
