MayorMeanBeans Posted April 24, 2010 Share Posted April 24, 2010 @realitycheque and mercer there was recently a bunch of debate on what is acceptable photoshop use, and most of the more presitigious contests now ask for you to submit the original raw file along the final product. these are a couple of the images that caught flack recently: original raw: photoshopped: this image got pulled. also: after: ^intially won a photo of the year prize (the story was on ukrainian street fighting), but after consulting the raw image, was disqualified. ------------------------------------------------------------ some of my photos are probably too much post-processing, my personal parameters are "its okay if you could do it in a darkroom", which is admittedly pretty vague. Cropping for size restraints where you have to is okay, but I hate photos like the above where the photographer took a photo cropped out 75% of it. There was a written piece in a photography book that pretty much summed out how I feel about photography. I doubt I can find it on the internet, but I'll try. Nikons Viewnx doesnt crop, and photoshop doesnt recognize a nef file. So how do i crop a NEF/RAW image?? This is diving me nuts. This is for a freelance job im finishing up, and is due monday..
