    @Deine Mudder @morton its a big deal with the smaller airlines in south east Asia. Most of them have a weight limit of 7kg/15 lbs for carry on and personal item combined. Planning a trip to Vietnam in Jan and that’s how I came across this. I’ve had issues with Ryanair in the past in Western Europe and was forced to check my bag. I don’t remember if that was a weight issue or a dimensions issue though. It was a while ago.

    I learned a good travel hack I want to share this is for airlines that have strict weight limits for your carry on and personal item you need one of these neck pillows. It has to be one with a zipper on it. You need to remove the stuffing or pillow inside. Then you fill the neck pillow with things from your carry on. You stuff the neck pillow with rolled up t-shirts or pants or socks. if you walk through the gate with the neck pillow they will not count the weight against your carry on personal item.
